Vsti radar blips annotation
1. For this sound I attempted to create an effect that resembles the output sounds of a
radar or older electric input for machinery. In this case less work is required in the
design of the sequence as radar sounds are very consistent in tone. Therefore most
work for this sound went into the adjustment of the instrument itself. I adjusted the
peaks for the reverberations to be more consistent, with longer tones. I also adjusted
the amp of the various OP sliders to have each ‘major’ note be higher and sharper,
and reduce the amount of background noise that accompanies the reverb.
The sequence here is a simple repeating tone, which I chose to use to
recreate the effect of a machine’s evenly spaced routine inputs and
outputs. The presence of reverb that follows each tone makes
adjustment to the sequence difficult without resulting in the audio
becoming chaotic. The large space I left after the third tone is to allow
the render to capture the whole length of the reverb that follows the
end of the sequence.
