The document describes two locations that will be used in a music video. The main location is a dance studio at The Dance Mill, which was chosen because the video is about a dance performance. The studio has good lighting near the windows and a vintage feel that fits the mood of the slow, depressing song. The second location is a changing room at The Dance Mill, which was selected to add variety and show the actor getting ready for her dance performance. It also provides a plain background for scenes where the actor mimes lyrics.
2. Dance studio Description
Throughout my music video the
location that I will be using will be one
of the dance studios at the Dance Mill. I
have chosen this as one of my locations
because my whole video is based on a
dance performance so a dance studio is
the perfect setting to make it look more
professional. I chose the dance mill
studio over the dance studio at my
school because I love the layout of the
windows in this studio and I think that I
could do some really strong shots with
the lighting. I also like the vintage effect
that this studio has as I think it will fit
in with the mood of my video as the
song and the dance is quite slow and
depressing. This studio is also easy for
me to access because its round the
corner from my school and my actor
goes to dance collage here so I will have
free access to this studio whenever I
need it.
3. Changing room Description
Another location that you will see
throughout parts of my music video will
be the changing room. I chose this
location so that it kept the video a bit
more interesting by changing the
location every now and then so that the
viewers don’t get bored of seeing the
same location throughout. I chose the
changing room because it still links in
with my performance theme as the
changing room will be in the dance mill
and will be used to look like she is
getting ready for dance. The changing
room will also be a good location for the
scenes where my actor is miming the
lyrics because if she has a plain
background behind her then it wont
draw any attention away from her she
will be centre of attention. The
changing room is relatable for my
target audience if they have had a
similar experience of wanting to hide or
run away when upset.
