Two women who lived together both claimed that the living son belonged to her and the dead son belonged to the other. They brought their case before King Solomon. He proposed to split the living child in half to settle the dispute. The true mother pleaded for the king to give the whole child to the other woman rather than destroy it, revealing herself as the rightful parent. King Solomon declared her the mother and awarded her the child due to her display of compassion.

same house; and I gave birth while she was in the
house. 18 Then it happened, the third day after I
had given birth, that this woman also gave birth.
And we were together; no one was with us in the
house, except the two of us in the house.
3. 1 Kings 3:19-21
19 And this woman's son died in the night, because she
lay on him. 20 So she arose in the middle of the night and
took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept,
and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my
bosom. 21 And when I rose in the morning to nurse my
son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in
the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had
borne.”

22 Then the other woman said, "No! But the living one is
my son, and the dead one is your son." And the first
woman said, "No! But the dead one is your son, and the
living one is my son." Thus they spoke before the king. 23
And the king said, "The one says, 'This is my son, who
lives, and your son is the dead one'; and the other says,
'No! But your son is the dead one, and my son is the
living one.’” 24 Then the king said, "Bring me a sword."
So they brought a sword before the king.
5. 1 Kings 3:25- 27
25 And the king said, "Divide the living child in two, and
give half to one, and half to the other.” 26 Then the
woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she
yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, "O
my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill
him!" But the other said, "Let him be neither mine nor
yours, but divide him.” 27 So the king answered and
said, "Give the first woman the living child, and by no
means kill him; she is his mother."

Solomon’s wisdom is based on God’s ways.
How does God determine value? The Jewish laws was that if two parties had a property dispute and ownership could not be established then the property was divided in two equal parts. But obviously that law could not be applied here because this was a living being, two half babies is nothing. So with his decree he immediately elevated the value of the baby and removed it from the base arguments of property. When we deal with things we should always attach value accordingly, Jesus echoed this in Mar 12:16 When they handed it to Him, He asked, "Whose picture and title are stamped on it?" "Caesar's," they replied.
Mar 12:17 "Well, then," Jesus said, "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God." His reply completely amazed them. Solomon made nothing of their prostitution or who the father was because none of those facts had anything to do with the value of the child.
Then if value is determined by origin belonging is also determined by origin. Solomon’s logic was that whoever gave origin to the child would value the child more and would hold the child's life in the highest esteem. The real mother would do anything to preserve the child’s true value, it’s life. For the false mother the child’s value was not in itself but in what she could get from it. For her the child was a way to keep herself from having to be Yevamus and subject to the law of Yibbum. Yibbum or levirate marriage in Judaism, is one of the most complex types of marriages mandated by Torah law (Yibbumo Deuteronomy 25:5-10) by which, according to the law, the brother of a man who died without children has an obligation to marry the widow (wikipedia). It is obviously uncomfortable for a woman to be trapped in this situation, wherein she would be subject to the will of another man. Her brother-in-law may not be locatable, compliant or appealing.
Exception to Yibbum - Rule #3: Offspring: According to Talmud Yevamos 11 lb and Shabbos 136a, if the deceased left behind any offspring at all, there is no Yibbum - even if the offspring is only one day old. Even if the offspring is still a viable fetus at the time of the husband's death, its mother is exempted from being bound to the living brother. If the fetus is a stillborn or is aborted, or dies, or is killed before it lived for thirty days, it is not considered to have ever been a viable offspring, and Yibbum would be required. The false mother wanted the child to avoide Yibbum so her value for the child was a pragmatic one, the child was a means to an end. If she couldn’t be saved from Yibbum then she also didn’t want the real mother to be saved. See her twisted view and self centered approach.

Hitler saw Arians as having original value but Jews and cripples had lost their value and he added a price tag to them according to their use. Babies are aborted because they don’t have original value in societies eyes.
