Fonts
Skyrim is a fantasy RPG set in an alternate world full of mythical
creatures magic and lots of violence, the game gives across a medieval
theme set in a old time period. Due to these factors the fonts used in
game and for there advertisements all have an ancient and decrepit
style, the font used for the title almost resembles stone pillars and they
have done a good job at choosing fonts relatable to the time period and
create a fantasy feel.
Colors and props
With the game being set in the world and time it is the colors in the
game are usually quite dark for the scenery and landscape making it feel
old and also similar to what we believe the weather and landscape may
have been with lots of natural structures and most man made objects
resembling stone and wood. However the game also has a big Fantasy
side to its theme so they also use bright colors when it comes to the
magic side and the creatures within game, using bright vibrant colors to
give of this mythical and magical effect.
The game again uses dark colors for the weapons in game particularly
black as this is a color usually associated with death and fear, however
certain races have weapons such as dwarven axes and elven bows where
they use colors like gold and emerald to show power and wealth among
these races.
The apparel in game is similar they use darker colors for the armor you
get from lower class enemy's such as nords dropping cloth and leather
but then from elves you can get golden armor, using the colors to show
the gap in wealth and power.

• Location
• Skyrim being set in a alternate world or maybe earth in a ancient
time period the location in the game is a big selling point having a
huge open world map full of several locations some major cities
other small rural villages along rivers, and a whole load of natural
structures such as caves, mountains and huge plains.
• The location is Skyrim how ever there's a total of ten cities, ten towns
and lots of dungeons castles and other random structures through
the map.
• The scenery has been designed to look old and resemble what we
once may have lived like long ago but also shows lots of class
difference as in the cities they live in big houses but then in the
villages they live very rural which is how it may have been, the game
having a fantasy theme therefore it contains lots of hidden dungeons
and big stone structures giving it very lord of the rings and unrealistic
side.
• Lighting and Sound
• The lighting used in the Skyrim world is there to create effects such
as night and the weather changes being bright in hotter areas but
dark and snowy in other parts, but is also used in lots of the
dungeons and caves to create an eerie atmosphere and to also show
light coming in to show the natural structures.
• The game also includes a variety on sound effects and noises to
create a sense of danger and adventure when playing, the game
includes a variety of enemies from dragons to mammoths all with a
range of sound effects used when in combat with the creature, it also
has a range of just general sound effects for combat smithing and the
many hobbies you can take on in game. The game also has music but
only really one song that plays in the home screen and when
something starts to happen such as a dragon appearing, the music is
there to create a sense of adventure and excitement to make the
fighting more thrilling.
• Audience appeal
• Skyrim being an RPG it has had quite a large following
however this is not the only reason as it is a very
enjoyable and large game with lots to do and massive
leveling up system, it hits almost all the points most
people will be looking for in a game like this with lots of
fighting, lots of progression and tons of equipment
following a fun and interesting story.
• The game also is appealing as at the time the map was
one of the biggest in game maps of its time and looked
good at that it contained a few bugs and texture issues
however with the size and content involved it was
bound to occur.
• Skyrim followed a first person mechanism and had
enjoyable combat, and easy to use controls. The game
was an all round good game and really appealed to
people through the fantasy side of things especially
making a game that some what resembles the likes of
lord of the rings and a old time period.

Fonts
The Final fantasy game series is set among several alternate planets in a
made up universe therefore has a solid fantasy genre to the game, so when it
comes to the fonts used for this game they are all quite fancy and
extravagant and is similar to fonts used in mythology and legends which may
be due to the game following its genre.
The fonts used a good at giving you a glimpse at what the game may contain
and what style to expect.
Colors and props
The final fantasy games unlike the game I was just looking at contains a lot
more lighter and pale colors, using a cartoon art style and a fantasy theme
they have used lots of bright blues and yellows with lots of white to create
light, this makes the game feel as if its for a younger audience and resembles
games and the style of culture in japan as this is where the game was
developed.
The game also uses colors to show connotations with the characters such as
the lead role uses a large blue sword and has bright yellow hair which are
colors usually related to loyalty, joy ,trust and happiness all characteristics
the character gives of, and then enemy's with colors such as black or red
which connotes death and anger.
Props
In the game there are several types of prop you can use when playing, it is
also a big part of the experience when playing as you collect lots of items and
equipment along the way including, bracelets that act as armor, a variety of
weapons and a long list of various items all you can either use in battle or
equip.
The props in this game don’t only include the items and equipment you
obtain along your journey but there's a list of transport you can use mainly
resembling ships and advanced technolgy.
Final Fantasy VII
• Location
• The game is set on a alternate planet named Gaia which is
made up of 4 unnamed continents labeled as the north, east,
south and west when playing. The planet is mainly made up
of flat plains of grass however contains three species two of
which have built civilizations and show to have extremely
advanced technology and weapons.
• The planet also contains a large Icey glacier in the north and
one large canyon and cave within the south, the location
gives you a real fantasy effect as if your really on another
planet where very little parts have been populated and has
extreme terrain and weather like real planets out there do.
• However Gaia is a living organism which gives birth to its
inhabitants and where they return upon death, this is a big
focus as it shows the location as a live thing which produces
people to protect its self showing it may even have emotions
which really changes the entire location when you really get
into the game.
• Lighting and sound
• Being an older game even though it did face a remake
recently the game doesn't’t have a huge focus on its lighting
however it does use it when showing the planet and the
change in climate or day, they particularly use lots of lighting
when it comes to the fantasy side of things with certain
characters emitting bright white lights to resemble power or
relate to angels.
• The game however does use lots of sound effects especially
with music, it includes various sound effects for enemy's and
various characters however the music is more of the sounds
focus as the game includes several songs that play during
fights to create tension and make the fight exciting, but thy
also use music in cut scenes to add to the dramatic effect for
example if someone were to die they would play slow music.
• Audience appeal
• With the final fantasy series being one of
the biggest hits in gaming over the years it
has gathered quite the cult following with
many die hard fans however there are
several reasons for this, firstly the games
have used a turn based combat
mechanism which works really well and
yet still challenging.
• The game has a big focus on progression
and getting stronger using items and just
gathering a bad ass team to destroy
enemies, one of the major selling points
from this series is the fantasy style they
use and the Japanese feel the game gives
of showing the culture and what they
enjoy and what's popular media and
styles over there.

The borderlands games all follow an almost post apocalyptic theme based on 2
alternate planets Pandora and its moon, so when it comes to the fonts used in game
and on advertisement they have made the style almost steam punk but with a really
comic twist to it. The fonts are used a lot in the game when characters or bosses are
introduced and they tend to make the fonts related to the person such as using the
colors they where and including an item or something related to them for example
colonel T zarpedon is a character infused with iridium therefore her title screen the font
is pulsating the purple veins like her character would. They like to keep the fonts large
and eye popping a lot like the general art style in borderlands.
Colours
The borderlands games use lots of colors to portray its visuals and to make the comic
art style of the game really work, the game is set on another planet and they seem to
have advanced technology in many ways but also show to lead violent lives with chaos
and crazy being two main personality tropes throughout.
there fore the game shows lots of bright colors when it comes the the natural side of
the game with large lava pits and huge purple rock faces, with the weapons and
technology being a big part they use a whole load of bold colors on the weaponry
usually making the colures resemble the elemental effect E.G red and orange for fire
guns.
The characters also follow similar color schemes where they will have one main color
with accessory's that contrast or use similar shades.
Props
Being a shoot and loot game the props are probably one of the main factors the game is
so loved, you go though the game constantly up grading and switching between new
weapons that just get stronger the higher the level you get with hundreds of different
weapons of different power, color, manufacturer and effects as well as multiple
grenades and shields you obtain.
The equipment is obtainable through killing enemy's, multiple tiered chests and shops
you also receive multiple items upon completing missions as rewards as well as XP.
However equipment is not the only prop within the game there are also multiple
currency's including just money and moon stone which again you get from mobs. The
game also includes vehicles you can spawn in garages through the world which have
skins you can unlock.
Borderlands the pre-sequel
• Location
• The borderlands series is set on 2 planets and a space station named Pandora,
Elpis and the Helios station, however the 3rd game is based on Elpis the moon
of Pandora the planet from previous games and the Helios station.
• Pandora where majority of the game is based is an alternate moon full of
chaos, mayhem and a whole lot of crazy. The planet is full of life and color and
a bunch of alien plants and extreme natural occurrences, they have used lots
of bright purples and reds to give the effect of being on a foreign planet,
however the planet has lots of man made structures and seems to have
advanced technology with most of the buildings made of metal and with
things such as turrets and laser shields. The planet also has many inhabitants
from crazed bandits who have no value to life to rich assholes with no value to
other peoples life, but also around the world there's lots of alien species such
as big dragon like creatures to smaller crab like spiders.
• Then the Helios station where lots of the game is set however more is on the
moon, being a space station it is full of advanced technology and is entirely
made up of metal, the inside and the different areas on board almost
represent a shopping mall then some areas seem like an air carrier, the station
also has a huge laser which is the main use of the place however it is also the
main base for the character you work under who goes on to be the enemy in
the previous games.
• However the game has a third area to the game which you only really spend
time in on the later missions, the place is a vault named Tychos ribs it seems
like an alternate reality when you enter, full of very alien like creatures with
advanced ability's and weapons known as the guardians. The place contains
several layers and massive disk like elevators to get up and down with lots of
places to fall down in to a vibrant purple like lava.
• The colors inside are all very purple and black which is representing the Iridium
which is a highly powerful source in the world, when you first enter the place
seems like a naturally developed cave, but the further you get to the end of
the game the more it represents an alien ship or base.
Borderlands the pre-sequel
• Lighting and sound
• In the borderlands game a big part of the game is focused on the world
and the way it looks and the whole art style they have used, and in the
game they have used the lighting in many ways firstly they have used
lighting for the different areas of the map, so in the areas which are all red
stone and lava pools its rather bright but then inside areas and the caves
are darker but still have bright colours to match the cartoon style.
• They also use the lighting with the characters to show the detail in there
appearance and to make the art style look better. The game has lots of sci-
fi objects in it like lasers and sentry turrets, and with some of the weapons
they use bright light to make the weapon seem more futuristic.
• The game does not focus much on the sound they use there's not really
any music however there is a lot of sound effects for all the props, NPCs
and weapons.
Fallout 3
• Fonts and Colours
The fallout game series are all based in post apocalyptic worlds full of radiation, mutations and just chaos. Fallout 3 is
no exception the world isn't very colorful and is full of dark browns and greys and the odd vibrant green radioactive
pool, the world does use colour when it comes to the props and items you can collect however the game follows a
realistic art style having things like tablets, plates and other real life things you found laying around. The game is set in
the future so does have many unrealistic aspects like many mutant animals and people as well as laser guns and power
suits, the game also has computers you can acssess where they have made it look like an old coding system using old
green text you would find in real life, however the game also represents the 1940s through its props and music, but
also the fonts used and the title for the game shows the apocalyptic style.
• Props
Fallout 3 is a world full of props and just a load of random items ill first talk about the none usable items or props that
just don’t do anything, in the game there's loads of NPCs an houses across the wastelands which are filled with the kind
of house hold items that you'd except t find in a post apocalyptic world such as plates, empty cans, fridges and stuff.
But also across the world there are broken cars, buses and barrels spread through the wastelands but also a load of
huge billboards and posters which represent a 1940s pre war style art.
A big part of the game however are the items and props you can use and collect from all sorts of things from Chester
draws to ammunition boxes, the items fall in to category's in your inventory going all, weapons, armor, misc. and buff
items the game has a load of weapons from old war guns to lasers and lots of throwing items as well as melee
weapons, then with the armor there's lots of hand made scavenger items aswell ass old clothes and big power suits
which require training to wear.
The least important items fall under misc as they are the stuff you pick up that you cant use but can sell or craft with,
however the buffs are all the weird pharmaceuticals and food you gather that give you health or weird power buffs that
add to your abilities.
Fallout 3
• Location
The location you are placed in when playing the borderlands game represents a post apocalyptic
America covering across DC, Washington, northern Virginia and Maryland in the year 2227. This
makes the world look dark and dull and not hugely colonized, however its full of old buildings
such as the Washington monument but however its destroyed like most of the world. The game
consists of several colony's some small and poor others massive and full of people, however all
the places are there own kind of crazy and have loads of interesting characters, the places with
people tend to be run down and full of minimal items but represent a steam punk style with most
of the structures built from old metals.
The game also has lot of natural structures and landscapes with several caves one colonized by a
group of kids an also many vast plains and desert hills. A big center of the game is the vaults
which are under ground bunkers where people live to hide from the radiation but never leave,
these are all metal structures that all look the same and are full of vault tech equipment, and the
place lots of the games start.
sound
Fallout 3 is full of all sorts of cool sound effects and music as you go, the game has many mobs
that make various clicking noises and moans but also a load of NPCs you can talk to therefore
there were a lot of voice overs in the game, the game being set in the future also has loads of
laser noises and big machinery. But a big part of the game is the music they use each game they
use real songs from different eras with fallout 3 being the 19040s.

• What's your favourite video game genre and why? I
personally love first person shooters. The main reason why I that
love the amount of action you get into and I have loved guns
from a young age.
• Do you enjoy games that focus more online
gameplay or a good story? Why? Depending on what
game I play but I mainly enjoy the online experiences of paying
against other payers and coming up against better players then
myself s I can improve as a player.
• What's your opinion on turn based games such as
civilisation or FF5? I personally do like the idea of he games
but with most of them I find it hard to get into them but when I
do I really enjoy playing them.
Interview 1
• Observation: This interview shows that the person
particularly enjoys FPS games and enjoys the side of gaming
where you get better and challenge your abilities with
others.
• What this says about my audience: This shows that my
target audience may want games which challenge there
abilities and want there games to include lots of action.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my game
may not appeal to this person massively however it
includes a lot of action and challenging and also includes a
side to the game where you improve and is rewarding.
Interview 2
What's your favourite video game genre and
why?
Probably first person shooters as I just enjoy using the ranking systems of levelling up
and getting to a high level and looking at your stats compared to your friends, I also
like the skill element of it as you can tell who is good at it and there is not a lot of luck
involved.
Do you enjoy games that focus more online
gameplay or a good story? Why?
I prefer online games as I enjoy the social aspect of playing games with my friends as I
get bored quickly on my own.
What's your opinion on turn based games such as civilisation
or FF5?
I personally don’t like them as they get boring and I enjoy just playing rather than
waiting around.

• Observation: this has shown me that they prefer
FPS games and like to be constantly playing and
moving around rather then be stuck waiting.
• What this says about my audience: this shows my
audience would like to see a more online game
that requires you to compete with friends and
others to get stronger.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
my game may not appeal to this person, however
it will include a very rewarding system and will
challenge your abilities in more strategic areas.

  • 2. Existing Product Fonts Skyrim is a fantasy RPG set in an alternate world full of mythical creatures magic and lots of violence, the game gives across a medieval theme set in a old time period. Due to these factors the fonts used in game and for there advertisements all have an ancient and decrepit style, the font used for the title almost resembles stone pillars and they have done a good job at choosing fonts relatable to the time period and create a fantasy feel. Colors and props With the game being set in the world and time it is the colors in the game are usually quite dark for the scenery and landscape making it feel old and also similar to what we believe the weather and landscape may have been with lots of natural structures and most man made objects resembling stone and wood. However the game also has a big Fantasy side to its theme so they also use bright colors when it comes to the magic side and the creatures within game, using bright vibrant colors to give of this mythical and magical effect. The game again uses dark colors for the weapons in game particularly black as this is a color usually associated with death and fear, however certain races have weapons such as dwarven axes and elven bows where they use colors like gold and emerald to show power and wealth among these races. The apparel in game is similar they use darker colors for the armor you get from lower class enemy's such as nords dropping cloth and leather but then from elves you can get golden armor, using the colors to show the gap in wealth and power. Skyrim • Location • Skyrim being set in a alternate world or maybe earth in a ancient time period the location in the game is a big selling point having a huge open world map full of several locations some major cities other small rural villages along rivers, and a whole load of natural structures such as caves, mountains and huge plains. • The location is Skyrim how ever there's a total of ten cities, ten towns and lots of dungeons castles and other random structures through the map. • The scenery has been designed to look old and resemble what we once may have lived like long ago but also shows lots of class difference as in the cities they live in big houses but then in the villages they live very rural which is how it may have been, the game having a fantasy theme therefore it contains lots of hidden dungeons and big stone structures giving it very lord of the rings and unrealistic side. • Lighting and Sound • The lighting used in the Skyrim world is there to create effects such as night and the weather changes being bright in hotter areas but dark and snowy in other parts, but is also used in lots of the dungeons and caves to create an eerie atmosphere and to also show light coming in to show the natural structures. • The game also includes a variety on sound effects and noises to create a sense of danger and adventure when playing, the game includes a variety of enemies from dragons to mammoths all with a range of sound effects used when in combat with the creature, it also has a range of just general sound effects for combat smithing and the many hobbies you can take on in game. The game also has music but only really one song that plays in the home screen and when something starts to happen such as a dragon appearing, the music is there to create a sense of adventure and excitement to make the fighting more thrilling.
  • 4. • Audience appeal • Skyrim being an RPG it has had quite a large following however this is not the only reason as it is a very enjoyable and large game with lots to do and massive leveling up system, it hits almost all the points most people will be looking for in a game like this with lots of fighting, lots of progression and tons of equipment following a fun and interesting story. • The game also is appealing as at the time the map was one of the biggest in game maps of its time and looked good at that it contained a few bugs and texture issues however with the size and content involved it was bound to occur. • Skyrim followed a first person mechanism and had enjoyable combat, and easy to use controls. The game was an all round good game and really appealed to people through the fantasy side of things especially making a game that some what resembles the likes of lord of the rings and a old time period. Existing Product Final Fantasy VII Fonts The Final fantasy game series is set among several alternate planets in a made up universe therefore has a solid fantasy genre to the game, so when it comes to the fonts used for this game they are all quite fancy and extravagant and is similar to fonts used in mythology and legends which may be due to the game following its genre. The fonts used a good at giving you a glimpse at what the game may contain and what style to expect. Colors and props The final fantasy games unlike the game I was just looking at contains a lot more lighter and pale colors, using a cartoon art style and a fantasy theme they have used lots of bright blues and yellows with lots of white to create light, this makes the game feel as if its for a younger audience and resembles games and the style of culture in japan as this is where the game was developed. The game also uses colors to show connotations with the characters such as the lead role uses a large blue sword and has bright yellow hair which are colors usually related to loyalty, joy ,trust and happiness all characteristics the character gives of, and then enemy's with colors such as black or red which connotes death and anger. Props In the game there are several types of prop you can use when playing, it is also a big part of the experience when playing as you collect lots of items and equipment along the way including, bracelets that act as armor, a variety of weapons and a long list of various items all you can either use in battle or equip. The props in this game don’t only include the items and equipment you obtain along your journey but there's a list of transport you can use mainly resembling ships and advanced technolgy.
  • 6. Final Fantasy VII • Location • The game is set on a alternate planet named Gaia which is made up of 4 unnamed continents labeled as the north, east, south and west when playing. The planet is mainly made up of flat plains of grass however contains three species two of which have built civilizations and show to have extremely advanced technology and weapons. • The planet also contains a large Icey glacier in the north and one large canyon and cave within the south, the location gives you a real fantasy effect as if your really on another planet where very little parts have been populated and has extreme terrain and weather like real planets out there do. • However Gaia is a living organism which gives birth to its inhabitants and where they return upon death, this is a big focus as it shows the location as a live thing which produces people to protect its self showing it may even have emotions which really changes the entire location when you really get into the game. • Lighting and sound • Being an older game even though it did face a remake recently the game doesn't’t have a huge focus on its lighting however it does use it when showing the planet and the change in climate or day, they particularly use lots of lighting when it comes to the fantasy side of things with certain characters emitting bright white lights to resemble power or relate to angels. • The game however does use lots of sound effects especially with music, it includes various sound effects for enemy's and various characters however the music is more of the sounds focus as the game includes several songs that play during fights to create tension and make the fight exciting, but thy also use music in cut scenes to add to the dramatic effect for example if someone were to die they would play slow music.
  • 7. • Audience appeal • With the final fantasy series being one of the biggest hits in gaming over the years it has gathered quite the cult following with many die hard fans however there are several reasons for this, firstly the games have used a turn based combat mechanism which works really well and yet still challenging. • The game has a big focus on progression and getting stronger using items and just gathering a bad ass team to destroy enemies, one of the major selling points from this series is the fantasy style they use and the Japanese feel the game gives of showing the culture and what they enjoy and what's popular media and styles over there. Existing Product Borderlands the pre sequelFonts The borderlands games all follow an almost post apocalyptic theme based on 2 alternate planets Pandora and its moon, so when it comes to the fonts used in game and on advertisement they have made the style almost steam punk but with a really comic twist to it. The fonts are used a lot in the game when characters or bosses are introduced and they tend to make the fonts related to the person such as using the colors they where and including an item or something related to them for example colonel T zarpedon is a character infused with iridium therefore her title screen the font is pulsating the purple veins like her character would. They like to keep the fonts large and eye popping a lot like the general art style in borderlands. Colours The borderlands games use lots of colors to portray its visuals and to make the comic art style of the game really work, the game is set on another planet and they seem to have advanced technology in many ways but also show to lead violent lives with chaos and crazy being two main personality tropes throughout. there fore the game shows lots of bright colors when it comes the the natural side of the game with large lava pits and huge purple rock faces, with the weapons and technology being a big part they use a whole load of bold colors on the weaponry usually making the colures resemble the elemental effect E.G red and orange for fire guns. The characters also follow similar color schemes where they will have one main color with accessory's that contrast or use similar shades. Props Being a shoot and loot game the props are probably one of the main factors the game is so loved, you go though the game constantly up grading and switching between new weapons that just get stronger the higher the level you get with hundreds of different weapons of different power, color, manufacturer and effects as well as multiple grenades and shields you obtain. The equipment is obtainable through killing enemy's, multiple tiered chests and shops you also receive multiple items upon completing missions as rewards as well as XP. However equipment is not the only prop within the game there are also multiple currency's including just money and moon stone which again you get from mobs. The game also includes vehicles you can spawn in garages through the world which have skins you can unlock.

Borderlands the pre-sequel • Location • The borderlands series is set on 2 planets and a space station named Pandora, Elpis and the Helios station, however the 3rd game is based on Elpis the moon of Pandora the planet from previous games and the Helios station. • Pandora where majority of the game is based is an alternate moon full of chaos, mayhem and a whole lot of crazy. The planet is full of life and color and a bunch of alien plants and extreme natural occurrences, they have used lots of bright purples and reds to give the effect of being on a foreign planet, however the planet has lots of man made structures and seems to have advanced technology with most of the buildings made of metal and with things such as turrets and laser shields. The planet also has many inhabitants from crazed bandits who have no value to life to rich assholes with no value to other peoples life, but also around the world there's lots of alien species such as big dragon like creatures to smaller crab like spiders. • Then the Helios station where lots of the game is set however more is on the moon, being a space station it is full of advanced technology and is entirely made up of metal, the inside and the different areas on board almost represent a shopping mall then some areas seem like an air carrier, the station also has a huge laser which is the main use of the place however it is also the main base for the character you work under who goes on to be the enemy in the previous games. • However the game has a third area to the game which you only really spend time in on the later missions, the place is a vault named Tychos ribs it seems like an alternate reality when you enter, full of very alien like creatures with advanced ability's and weapons known as the guardians. The place contains several layers and massive disk like elevators to get up and down with lots of places to fall down in to a vibrant purple like lava. • The colors inside are all very purple and black which is representing the Iridium which is a highly powerful source in the world, when you first enter the place seems like a naturally developed cave, but the further you get to the end of the game the more it represents an alien ship or base.

Borderlands the pre-sequel • Lighting and sound • In the borderlands game a big part of the game is focused on the world and the way it looks and the whole art style they have used, and in the game they have used the lighting in many ways firstly they have used lighting for the different areas of the map, so in the areas which are all red stone and lava pools its rather bright but then inside areas and the caves are darker but still have bright colours to match the cartoon style. • They also use the lighting with the characters to show the detail in there appearance and to make the art style look better. The game has lots of sci- fi objects in it like lasers and sentry turrets, and with some of the weapons they use bright light to make the weapon seem more futuristic. • The game does not focus much on the sound they use there's not really any music however there is a lot of sound effects for all the props, NPCs and weapons.
  • 11. Fallout 3 • Fonts and Colours The fallout game series are all based in post apocalyptic worlds full of radiation, mutations and just chaos. Fallout 3 is no exception the world isn't very colorful and is full of dark browns and greys and the odd vibrant green radioactive pool, the world does use colour when it comes to the props and items you can collect however the game follows a realistic art style having things like tablets, plates and other real life things you found laying around. The game is set in the future so does have many unrealistic aspects like many mutant animals and people as well as laser guns and power suits, the game also has computers you can acssess where they have made it look like an old coding system using old green text you would find in real life, however the game also represents the 1940s through its props and music, but also the fonts used and the title for the game shows the apocalyptic style. • Props Fallout 3 is a world full of props and just a load of random items ill first talk about the none usable items or props that just don’t do anything, in the game there's loads of NPCs an houses across the wastelands which are filled with the kind of house hold items that you'd except t find in a post apocalyptic world such as plates, empty cans, fridges and stuff. But also across the world there are broken cars, buses and barrels spread through the wastelands but also a load of huge billboards and posters which represent a 1940s pre war style art. A big part of the game however are the items and props you can use and collect from all sorts of things from Chester draws to ammunition boxes, the items fall in to category's in your inventory going all, weapons, armor, misc. and buff items the game has a load of weapons from old war guns to lasers and lots of throwing items as well as melee weapons, then with the armor there's lots of hand made scavenger items aswell ass old clothes and big power suits which require training to wear. The least important items fall under misc as they are the stuff you pick up that you cant use but can sell or craft with, however the buffs are all the weird pharmaceuticals and food you gather that give you health or weird power buffs that add to your abilities.

Fallout 3 • Location The location you are placed in when playing the borderlands game represents a post apocalyptic America covering across DC, Washington, northern Virginia and Maryland in the year 2227. This makes the world look dark and dull and not hugely colonized, however its full of old buildings such as the Washington monument but however its destroyed like most of the world. The game consists of several colony's some small and poor others massive and full of people, however all the places are there own kind of crazy and have loads of interesting characters, the places with people tend to be run down and full of minimal items but represent a steam punk style with most of the structures built from old metals. The game also has lot of natural structures and landscapes with several caves one colonized by a group of kids an also many vast plains and desert hills. A big center of the game is the vaults which are under ground bunkers where people live to hide from the radiation but never leave, these are all metal structures that all look the same and are full of vault tech equipment, and the place lots of the games start. sound Fallout 3 is full of all sorts of cool sound effects and music as you go, the game has many mobs that make various clicking noises and moans but also a load of NPCs you can talk to therefore there were a lot of voice overs in the game, the game being set in the future also has loads of laser noises and big machinery. But a big part of the game is the music they use each game they use real songs from different eras with fallout 3 being the 19040s.

The main reason why I that love the amount of action you get into and I have loved guns from a young age. • Do you enjoy games that focus more online gameplay or a good story? Why? Depending on what game I play but I mainly enjoy the online experiences of paying against other payers and coming up against better players then myself s I can improve as a player. • What's your opinion on turn based games such as civilisation or FF5? I personally do like the idea of he games but with most of them I find it hard to get into them but when I do I really enjoy playing them.

Interview 1 • Observation: This interview shows that the person particularly enjoys FPS games and enjoys the side of gaming where you get better and challenge your abilities with others. • What this says about my audience: This shows that my target audience may want games which challenge there abilities and want there games to include lots of action. • How will your product appeal to this audience: my game may not appeal to this person massively however it includes a lot of action and challenging and also includes a side to the game where you improve and is rewarding.

Probably first person shooters as I just enjoy using the ranking systems of levelling up and getting to a high level and looking at your stats compared to your friends, I also like the skill element of it as you can tell who is good at it and there is not a lot of luck involved. Do you enjoy games that focus more online gameplay or a good story? Why? I prefer online games as I enjoy the social aspect of playing games with my friends as I get bored quickly on my own. What's your opinion on turn based games such as civilisation or FF5? I personally don’t like them as they get boring and I enjoy just playing rather than waiting around.
