Holy Week in Málaga has ancient traditions dating back to the Catholic Monarchs and is a major religious, social, and cultural event held each year leading up to Easter Sunday. Processions take place from Palm Sunday through Good Friday and Holy Saturday depicting scenes from Jesus's Passion and Death and culminating on Easter Sunday with a representation of the Risen Jesus accompanied by local organizations. Holy Week in Málaga combines modernity and tradition in the southern Spanish city of Málaga on the Costa del Sol.
