2. Technology Use
Use: to employ for some purpose; put into service;
make use of
According to the definition of “use,” technology use
is merely putting technology into service for some
service.
How does this relate to technology integration?

3. Technology Integration
Integration generally means combining
specific parts so that they can work together
to form a whole.
In the classroom, technology (part) would
pair with curriculum (part) and result in
student learning (whole).
4. How do these terms differ?
When technology is effectively integrated into the
school curriculum, students are able to support
their learning and understanding through it. It is
not just about learning how to turn on a computer
and “use” its functions, but it is about using
technology to actively engage in the curriculum
and support student learning in the classroom.
Just using something vs. using something for a
purpose
5. Examples of Technology Integration
Blogging
Interactive Whiteboard
Google Earth
Podcasting
Video Conferencing
And Many More!!
All of these technologies can be integrated into the
classroom to support student learning through their use.
However, a student just “using” any one of these
technologies without it being integrated into the curriculum to
support their learning, would defeat the whole purpose of
why we want technology in the classroom in the first place!
