2. Aims
• This is to ensure you are
contributing to the group
constructively and can influence
the type of marketing campaign
your group will work on.
• The more thorough your
preparation, the more likely it is
that others in your group will be
persuaded by your ideas.
• You will be working on the group
production for four months, and
referring back to it all year, so it is
important to think about the
direction you want to go in
individually.
To develop ideas individually, in
preparation for the first group
meeting.
3. Record all of the following in a journal entry entitled ''My own initial ideas" or similar.
1. Come up with an idea for your own film.
• To help you do this, research existing or upcoming films to get some ideas. Post examples of any
films/teaser trailers/posters that you particularly like or think are relevant (make sure you comment
next to each one to highlight why you have included it and what you find interesting about it).
• State which genre/mix of genres you want to focus on.
• Briefly summarise your own film idea (or highlight ideas you could borrow from existing films).
2. Create a rough outline of how the film would be marketed.
• Who do you think will be the target audience?
• What are the key selling points of the film?
• How will you communicate this to your audience? How will you reach them?
3. Brainstorm/draft ideas for the design of the teaser trailer and film poster
considering a brand identity.
• To help you with this, look at poster designs for all films/teaser trailers you find interesting.

It is really important that the research and planning process you go
through is clear to see on your journal and all sources are
referenced
