Code
for
secondary
students
in
years
7
to
13
–

August
2013
RESPECT
is
one
of
our
values
at
LIS,
which
reminds
us
of
the
importance
of
showing
respect
for
ourselves
and
for
one
another
in
our
learning
environment.
We
are
an
international
school
aware
of
the
diversity
of
our
community
and
its
cultural
expectations.
Our
dress
code
means
to
convey
a
message
of
respectability
to
our
community,
an
understanding
of
situational
form,
and
to
reflect
the
spirit
of
LIS.
The
dress
code
for
secondary
students
has
been
revised
for
August
2013.
Please
take
note
of
these
changes
below.
Discussions
included
parents,
teachers
and
students.
We
strongly
urge
students
to
purchase
spirit
wear
shirts
from
the
PTA
as
they
reflect
who
we
are
as
a
community.
Secondary
students
may
wear
colours
and
designs
of
their
choice
and
should
conform
to
the
following:
Tops:
• Polo
shirt,
t-­‐shirts,
dress
shirt
or
sleeved
blouse
• Tops
must
cover
most
of
the
upper
torso
(no
exposed
midriff,
shoulders,
chest
or
back,
no
exposed
undergarments,
no
see
through
or
transparent
material)
• T-­‐shirts
must
not
have
any
offensive
logos
• Tank
Tops/Spaghetti
straps
are
not
allowed
Bottoms:
• Trousers
• Shorts
(knee
length)
• Skirts
(knee
length)
• Jeans
• Leggings
are
not
allowed
These
should
be
worn
around
the
waist
with
no
exposed
undergarments.
All
clothing
should
be
in
good
condition,
with
no
tears,
rips
or
frayed
hems.
Footwear:
• Shoes
and
socks
• Flat
closed-­‐toe
shoes
• Flat
sandals
• Flip
flops
