  1. 1. TLH Prom Dress Code 2016
  2. 2. The following slides will assist you in making your formalwear decisions. The dress code for prom will be enforced. Please take the time to get your dress/gown approved before you purchase it. Additional guidance can be given by administration.
  3. 3. Alterations Fabric inserts, as well as pinning, are allowed - but alterations must remain intact throughout the duration of your attendance at prom.
  4. 4. Formal wear Formal attire may be classified as a tuxedo/dress suit or formal dress/cocktail dress. A tuxedo/dress suit includes a jacket, tie, collared shirt, and may include a vest. Shirts are to be worn at all times. Students may not remove shirts during the prom. Dress shoes must be worn. Tennis shoes are unacceptable - make sure your shoes have non-marking soles. Formal dresses may be strapless or include spaghetti straps. Bare or open backs are acceptable; however, students should not wear dresses with excessively low backs extending beyond the hips. Bare abdomens or bare midriffs are not permitted. Two piece dresses that expose the midriff and dresses that have cutouts that expose the midriff are not allowed. Sheer/see- through fabric over a bare abdomen or midriff is not acceptable. Undergarments should not be visible. See-through apparel that shows areas above mid-thigh and dresses with slits that are above the mid-thigh are not permitted. Garments that are excessively tight or low-cut in front are also not acceptable. All garments should reach at least mid-thigh.
