2. How not to live in vain . .
If I can stop one heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain.
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin,
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain. -

Over the last 100 years, the kindness of Lions and Leos has multiplied across borders, oceans, and continents. With over 1.4 million members, we now have an opportunity to truly change our world. That’s why we’re uniting our global service around five areas of need.
By 2045, the number is expected to reach 700 million. Diabetes is a global epidemic that touches every corner of the globe.
Lions Clubs International and LCIF are dedicated to empowering Lions and Leos around the world to fight diabetes by serving their communities one by one.
We serve to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve quality of life for those diagnosed.
We serve to ensure all community members have access to nutritious foods.
We serve to sustainably protect and restore our environment to improve the well-being of all communities.
30% of the world’s land area is covered by forest
We serve to prevent avoidable blindness and improve quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired.
Lions and Leos provide support for the needs of children and families affected by childhood cancer through impactful service activities.
The Service Journey is an approach to living and serving well. To making a real difference people can see and feel. It encompasses four simple phases: Learn, Discover, Act, and Celebrate. We love these words because they transcend organizational formulas. They have no borders. They are the essence of Lions and Leos.
