- 1. Project Scope Change Order
________________________________________________________________________ Version 1.0
October 2, 2011
Walden University
Capstone: Practical Application of Instructional Design (EIDT - 6910 - 2)
Project Manager: Carmen Rios
Project Name: Five Essential Steps to Successful Job Placement
Project Tracking Number: Appendix 1-Capstone
Summary of Change: On October 1, 2011, several training participants advised the project manager that they were not willing to invest time downloading unknown software. As a result, Project Manager found that it would be necessary to change the original software quot;
Go to Meetingquot;
to quot;
Adobe Presenterquot;
. For instance, participants were not aware of downloading updated Java script and did not want to invest time learning that Java script automatically reminds them as users to upgrade their desktop. This is the reason why the Project Manager found the need to add a managing scope creep document in this week's assignment.
Rationale for Change: To accommodate the participants so that they may be comfortable accessing the selected software. Michael Greer (2010) asserted scope changes can be beneficial when they allow the project team to respond sensibly to changing conditions that exist outside the project and it is a way to ensure that project deliverables remain relevant. By responding to the need of the participants, by switching to software, the Project Manager keeps the participants involved in the learning of the Five Essential Steps to Successful Job Placement training. I share this point of view from Greer when I realized that I would need to continue tweaking this project.
Project schedule: 10/15/2011
Quality of deliverables: The instructional materials have been designed to function as resources framed to assist community service providers in the best and simplest format of learning how to conduct successful job placement with efficiency in a self- paced format. I am offering a convenient and tried learning process to workers who are working in the field of employment placement and who have not been trained. The training is designed to be re-usable. The instructional materials is being generated from Adobe Presenter software where the software is being used to build an interactive authoring e-learning experience where an audio narration, storyboard, pre and post assessments, career oriented assessment tools and video links will be generated in order to make the learning experience more engaging. Using the software, will allow the training to be published in multiple formats such as MP4, SWF, EXE, or PDF to the web and viewed by the use of a desktop, notebook, tablet or a smartphone. Most importantly, the instruction can be received globally and at any time.
Stakeholders and/or core team members: New York State Department of Education, Westchester County, New York, New York State Department of Labor, Community service providers (not for profit),and referred clients.
Change approved by (signatures):
Sponsor: _Walden University_ Date: _10/1/2011___
Project Manager: _Carmen Rios_ Date: _10/1/2011___
[This tool is from The Project Manager‘s Partner, 2nd Edition, © Copyright 2001, Michael Greer/HRD Press]
References
Allen, S. & Hardin, P.
