13. Meconium is passed into amniotic fluid when
fetal distress and anoxia have occurred in
utero
The skin may be stained with meconium and
the infant is depressed
During gestation or with the first breath,
thick meconium is aspirated into the lungs

14. Airway obstruction with in a few hours after the
birth
Respiratory distress (tachypnea, grunting, cyanosis)
Resuscitation (infant)-pneumothorax
Over expansion and rupture of alveoli
Atelectasis
