Focus on breath

• The oxygen of the whole world is available
  to me
• Because I control my breath I control my
  life
• I’ve got plenty of air - I’ve got plenty of
  breath

Using what happens outside as fuel for success

 If it’s Good – I come here as a Champ
 If it’s Bad – I have an extra incentive to dig
 in and improve my situation

 It’s easy to be happy at the peaks when the
 stars are shining. But what do we do in the
 dark valleys? – it is here that the true nature
 of our character emerges

Blocking out distractions
 Touch Triggers register new awareness in
the body –

• I am here for only six hours
• My time and energy are valuable
• I will stay focused during this time, so I can
  make good money and go home proud

Mental Imagery tools

• Not every tool is right for every
  situation

• But the more tools we have in our
  Mental Toolbox, the more solutions
  we have to life’s different challenges

Eye of the storm
• I’m dealing with forces much larger than
  myself, over which I have no control
• When the hurricane is raging outside, the
  eye of the storm is still
• I can’t control what is happening outside
  but I can maintain my steady, even, and
  effortless breath to feel calm inside of me
• Benefits: self-mastery / clear vision / peace

Radio beacon
• Broadcasting tower at a distance is emitting
  radio signals in your direction
• You are the receiver
• Adjust your progress according to the
  strength of signals you receive [choices]
• Benefits: sharper instincts / self-reliance /
  growing self-confidence

Tightrope

• A mental tightrope stretches from where I am
  right now to where I want to be
• Describe the dangers lying below, above, and
  on either side of your tightrope

Mastery of the tightrope = Faith / Focus / Fun
• Benefits: balance / discipline / self-knowledge

Life is full of unknown things which I can’t control
• So where is my security?
• In my inner resources --
• In what I think
• In how I act
• In how I take care of my body
• In how I regulate my breath

Meditation on 3 practical tools to take with me


1. Empty or concentrate mind: to empty the
mind of thoughts, or concentrate on one thing,
for relaxation or attention
2. Think carefully: to think about something
calmly, seriously, and for some time
Meditation calms the mind,
which calms the body,
which enables the body restore its natural balance
