their alarm so they turn it off and then sighs
C/U- The face of the person lying in bed
M/S- James getting up then sitting on the bed
C/U- James’ face dejected
M/S- James sitting on the bed then tracks him
dragging himself to the bathroom
M/S- James begins to brush his teeth then spits
out
M/S- James reflection in bathroom mirror then
his hands cover his face as he washes it with the
water in his hands then dries his face
W/S- James in his room in a shirt and trousers
M/S- James tying his tie then tracks him to
putting on his blazer and walking out his room
C/U- cereal being poured
M/S James taking the cereal to eat it
C/U James shoes as he ties them
M/S James finishing tying is shoes gets up and
begins walking
M/S tracking James as he puts on his coat and
walks out the house
W/S tracking James as he approaches and enters
school
M/S walking into class then takes of his coat and
sits down
C/U Door begins to open people walk through
C/U James looks up to see who comes through
and notices them laughing and talking then looks
back down in a depressed way
W/S tracks across the class showing everyone
talking amongst each other and stops on James
C/U James face as he takes of his headphones to
observe a conversation
M/S one of the two students helping the other
M/S the other student doing what he said
C/U James face as he observes the conversation

PRODUCTION SCRIPT
I’m james, everyday, I wake up and go through a
normal morning routine just like any other student
I hate the thought of school
I have social anxiety so I dread the thought of
having to go to school
I fear that people are always negatively judging me
even when I am not speaking
As a result I have little confidence and low self
esteem
Due to social anxiety I’m too afraid to do anything
in every environment
I see people walking into class laughing with each
other
As I see them walk in and I feel depressed because
I want to be like them but I am too scared they
won’t find me interesting
OH MY GOD! How do I even do this?
What’s the problem?
It’s this, the colours aren’t changing properly

2. M/S James continues to work until the lunch
alarm goes off
C/U James looks around him
W/S everyone leaving for lunch chatting loudly
leaving James on his own
M/S James continues to work whilst a monologue
starts
O/S Simulated scene where James is watching
everyone chatting wishing he could
M/S people laughing in a group
C/U someone laughing
C/U back to James with a depressed look, which
zooms out showing James back in class
FADE TO BLACK
M/S James being tracked from the front as he
walks in his house with his normal depressed
look.
M/S James taking off his coat and hanging it up
W/S James sitting on his bed depressed with his
head down then he stands up and begins to get
undressed
M/S James putting on a T-shirt, which completes
a lounging outfit, which looks presentable but not
very good
M/S Tracking shot of him walking out of his room
and downstairs
W/S James sitting down at a computer with
headphones and his mom enters off screen
M/S His mom just shut the door turns around
looks towards James
C/U James pulls back one headphone and says hi
to his mom then turns back around and puts the
headphones back on
M/S tracking his mom walking up the stairs after
putting down her bags

PRODUCTION SCRIPT
There is no point in me leaving for lunch with
them because I won’t talk to anybody anyway
I’m too boring nobody would be interested
This is due to my lack of social skills and it’s
painful when I experience this
I’d much rather stay here and be by myself
Finally I get home after another painful day at
school and I arrive to an empty house because
both my mom works till late in the afternoon
These feelings everyday make life difficult for
me and it gradually builds up for months or
years and cause me t have anxiety attacks
When I do get home I get somewhat dressed
into clothes that are more comfortable than
look good because I don’t plan on going outside
This is where I mostly spend my life watching
movies and TV series because they put me off
my own depressing and unchanging life
James I’m home
Hi mom
I am often alone I rarely ever talk to my parents
either, the computer allows me to escape the
prison in my head caused by social anxiety. As a
result I often feel unloved and unnoticed by
everyone.

M/S James replying to what they said
M/S James Steven also says something in reply
W/S His friend’s start talking to each other whilst
James slowly gets quieter and begins to walk slower
behind his friends
C/U face of one of his friends as he looks at the
other friend with a concerned face and then looks
at James
C/U The other friends face as he also looks at James
M/S James walking with his head down then Luke
includes him in the conversation again
“2 years later”
M/S James laughing and smiling in class
C/U someone talking aloud
W/S Everyone in the immediate area laughing
M/S James laughing then adding to joke which was
just said
M/S someone else adding to what James said
M/S James laughing and then the camera zooms
out to a wide shot revealing the rest of the people
around him laughing
Fade to Black
Just because I have social anxiety it doesn’t
mean I haven’t got any friends
I go to a social club in order to reduce how
much my social anxiety affects me
As a result I have made friends that I often go
out with at least once a month
Ever since I joined the social club I have been
forced to socialise in an environment that is out
of my comfort zone and I have become more
confident.
I am now able to cope with social situations
because I have gradually gained experience and
I have learnt not to let it affect my life as much
as it did.
