LEOMI-586 compressed air flow meter is most preferred by
Industrial, Environmental and Commercial customers for a
variety of applications such as Compressed Air,
Combustion Air, Aeration Air, Flue gas, Waste-gas, Landfill
gases etc.
LEOMI-586 Insertion Thermal mass flowmeter has been
developed as a new Measuring system which combines
separate analogue controllers for high resolution & very
fast response together with a very new and high
performance digital microprocessor controllers for long-
term stability & very high absolute accuracy instead of a
traditional drift prone Wheatstone Bridge for controlling
over temperature(ΔT). This ensures guarantee stable
electronic evaluation for Thermal (Calorimetric) Probes with
excellent electrical characteristics.
LEOMI-586 PFA is special version of sensor with
Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA). It is a copolymer of
hexaluoropropylene and perfluoroethers. PFA has good
anti-adhesion effect, hydrophobic, excellent corrosion
protection, superior creep resistance, high chemical

AIR
Air is free, but not compressed air. A lot of energy is required to produce compressed air
(~4CFM = 1Horse Power)*. All manufacturing companies need compressed air for their
utility, process, equipment operations to function reliably. At Leomi we observed a gap in
providing reliable solutions for compressed air flow measurement for saving precious
resources. After thorough research on customer behavior and needs, Leomi with German
technology developed Insertion Thermal Mass Flow meter for compressed air flow
measurement with software package an accurate, practical, reliable, rugged & cost-effective
solution to cater it.

COMBUSTION
AIR
Combustion air is the air that is used to actually burn fuel. Without combustion air, which is
normally forced into the furnace, combustion is impossible. The efficient operation of
today’s power plant hinges largely upon accurate and repeatable measurement and control
of various air inputs to the boiler such as Primary air, Secondary air, Overfire air, individual
burners, and flue-gas re-circulations air.
Many large industries such as Power, Steel, Cement, Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, Textiles, etc
need captive power plants for steam & electrical power requirement as a utility to reduce
their input costs. Conventional combustion airflow measurements such as DP Type (Airfoil,
Orifice, Annubar, or Pitot tube) are un-reliable, non-repeatable, frequent clogging, high
maintenance prone & expensive with conventional method DP Type (Airfoil, Orifice, Annubar
or Pitot tube).

Many industrial processes are emitting flues (stack ) gases such as steel & power plants, textile,
food processing, pharmaceutical productions, petrochemical processing and more. In the past,
flue gas flow measurement was unreliable, non-repeatable, high maintenance prone &
expensive.

Insertion Thermal Mass flow meter developed by LEOMI provides a solution with superior

A reliable Flue gas flow monitoring is required for environmental reporting as the emitted gases
may contain pollutants such as sulfur dioxides, mercury, and carbon dioxide that can harm the

gases, which contain greenhouse gas.

Aeration lane air controls are most imperative as lower or no air supply causes bacterial death
due to starvation for oxygen & inefficient treatment whereas very high air supply increases too
much bacterial growth in-turn bacteria gets hungry and dies & also increase energy cost.
Thermal mass flow meters come in handy for optimizing aeration control by measuring aeration
air flow to address the need to control oxygen flow rate requirements for optimizing BOD &
Energy costs in Effluent Wastewater Treatment Plant.
LEOMI thermal dispersion technology is the supported innovation for measuring aeration air flow
at plants where wastewater is dealt with Largescale Municipal Sewage Treatment, Common
Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP), small industrial effluent treatment.
Insertion thermal mass flow meter is a reliable technology for gas flow measurement and
requires virtually NO maintenance. They are simpler to install and save blower/compressor
energy costs. The meter provides direct mass flow rate measurement with the highest turndown
ratio, No pressure drop, accuracy, and repeatability work well for this application against DP

NATURALGAS

Thermal mass flow meters assist in precisely measuring the natural gases to a
combustion source to control the fuel-to-air ratio to acquire optimum thermal

BIOGAS
Alternative fuel, Bio gas is basically a blend of methane (approx.70%) and carbon
dioxide (approx.30%). Generated as a by-product mainly in Food such as Dairy, Starch &
Biopharmaceuticals productions plants.
For use as an alternative fuel biogas flow measurement is important at several points in
the system provides operators with critical information for optimal gas production,
control, safety, and reporting.
LEOMI Thermal Mass Flow Meters help evaluate the outflows by estimating the mass flow
rate, even at exceptionally low flows, and by giving an extremely simple approach to lead
the necessary periodic adjustment field checks with its high-end calibration methodology.
FLAREGAS
Industrial plants such as Steel Melting furnaces, Landfill gas extraction, Petrochemical
refineries & Chemical plants are using flare systems ordinarily. Gas flaring is the
process of burning off a volatile gas or excess gas. LEOMI provides flare gas
measurement solutions using thermal dispersion or calorimetric flow meter
technologies. Continuous monitoring of flare gases is required as subject to straight
regulations.
LEOMI thermal mass flow meters accurately measure flare gases at an extremely high
flow rates up to 4000ºC. As well as in some applications when the operator is willing to
trade off lower accuracy, LEOMI gas flow meters can save money versus the expense of
other technologies.
Because of the flammable properties of the flare gases, LEOMI Insertion thermal mass
