Experience at the Library
The library is a wonderful place to go to if you would like a quiet place to work. I like being at the
library because it is filled with knowledge, and there are many different books that interest me. I
enjoy going to the library because walking there clears my mind. Also, there are many books that are
available for the public to read and it is a quiet place to do work. To start, the walk to the library is
relaxing and peaceful. I decided to go to the library on September 21st for a college assignment.
While walking to the library I was intrigued by the many things that were going on around me. I
saw a mailman riding on a bicycle delivering mail which was something that I've never seen before.
Also, something that was very surprising to me was that there was a group of children running
behind an ice–cream truck which was a single block in front of me. I found this very amusing and I
continued to watch until they were out of sight. It made me think about when I was little and
what I used to do when I heard the ice cream truck come around my house. After walking for quite a
bit of time I began to feel tired and dehydrated. I began to wish I had chased after the ice cream
truck and got an ice cream to it, but it was gone already. I normally don't walk to the library so I
guess that was the reason I was so easily tired. I decided to buy a drink from the local corner store to

The Importance Of Technology In The Library
Library has been a great source for information literacy. Being a cheap source and having books to
read library were popular years ago and were one of the most used sources for education. Library
had played huge role in promoting information literacy but, with the advancement in technology
people are now open to a lot sources and on this run libraries were seem to be neglected due to the

A Study At The Library Alone Essay
The main argument of this paper is that most people are socialized to study at a specific spot. We
will be focusing on people who come to study at the library alone. Most people become
comfortable at a specific space in the library because of a general habitus of finding a space that
is considered their "own place" to study at. In Becoming a firefighter, Matthew Desmond
describes a general habitus as a "system of dispositions and ways about and acting in the world
that is constituted early on in life" (Desmond, Ethnograhy, 391). Humans are disposed to studying

People often think of their usual study space as theirs. Therefore, when entering the library, they

my habits from other people`s and just sticking to my observations. I also struggled with

A library is the centerpiece of the public. It's the place of education that stems throughout the entire
library campus and is a sanctuary for the young student like me, to retrieve nearly all information.
Any course material in class can be found that same information in the library, simply there are so
many ways to get information nowadays. With the help of books and especially the internet in every
public library in each state in the United States. Students should never feel the loss of information
at any time when the library can be a resource. As I was sitting in the first level of the library on a
Wednesday, I didn't really see as many people as I figured I would see. Even when my cousin was
going to have a test that same week I was in fall break, which she is in college. The floor was not
empty by any means, but with college students studying for their test. I would have imagined
students scrambling through the bookshelves and all computer were going to be busy, I believe
the study habits of students are about as prosperous as they have ever seen. They're finding
different ways, places, and even methods to complete their studying and research. To me, the
way a common student studies has changed even over the past years and the library has been a
role in this revolution. Now with newer and better technology coming in and out, it's normal for
every person to want to get their hands on it as quick as possible. Such as apple and Samsung
products, make internet access so much better accessible everywhere you go. Even today
computers have become a revolutionary matter and even has shaped the way libraries look today.
It is no secret back when computers were first invented, the ratio of bookshelves to computers
were not as even as they are now. As I look around the library, I see twice as much people on
computers than I do within the walls of the bookshelves reading a book or magazines. While books
were the traditional methods for school or business. Now are less likely to provide information,
students now want to use the internet instead the books to be able to get information they need. I
remember when I use to use books for everything and now I just use a computer to turn in my work.

The Importance Of Censorship In The Library
President Franklin Roosevelt once famously said, "Books cannot be killed by fire" ("Books Cannot
be Killed", para. 2). Since books are filled with ideas, no one can burn or ban them; people can burn
the pages of books, but the ideas will live forever in the minds of the readers. The act of book

written or verbal. Government officials, librarians, and even religious organizations censor materials,

far from reality. Since reading books provides numerous benefits to the reader, freedom to read is
critically important. As the American Library Association (ALA) stated, "The freedom to read is
essential to our democracy" (Intellectual Freedom, 2010, p. 203). Reading is essential to

If you had the opportunity to have many of life's questions answered more easily, why wouldn't
you? Library Research is a course which focuses on helping find answers efficiently, accurately and
with ease. In addition to aiding me in recognizing manipulating content found in the media, in
conjunction with how I might inadvertently distribute that misinformation, I was able to identify the
credibility of sources and realistically decide if and how I share content with others. This class had
an impact in ways I didn't expect––I had originally expected to learn how to sharpen my research
skills for essay–writing in school and decided it would too, be beneficial to my future career in
biochemistry research. I have developed new skills and enhanced ones that I already had. Similarly,
this course revealed the areas I need to improve on and in what manner, and prompted new questions
I had not contemplated before. This has been one of the most rewarding outcomes, due to my
insatiable desire for learning–we learn better when we ask questions. One strength I have acquired
from taking this course was identifying plagiarism in its many forms. During our week eight
lecture, we learned, not only why plagiarism is wrong and how to identify it, but that it can be
unintentional. Given excerpts, some of which were examples of plagiarism and others which were
not, alongside the original article, we classified them correctly into each category and explained
why each one displayed plagiarism or not. Albeit this exercise was far tougher than I expected, after
collaborating with my partner and hearing the explanations from other groups, I started seeing
patterns of plagiarism and could then separate them effortlessly. I initially thought that plagiarism
was only a conscious decision, and felt if it was unintentional, that it should be understood as a
mistake without dire consequences, apart from being told to correct it. Subsequently learning what

the hurricane that caused devastating damage to our town. Hurricane Sandy of 2012 was angry,

A Observation Paper On The Library
For my Participant Observation Paper, I decided to go and observe the library. It seemed like a
nice, quiet place to go for an assignment like this. I also thought that not many other people would
choose this place, so it would be unique. The observations I made at the library astounded me; I
had never noticed these things before. Here is a quick summary of my observations: the mood of
the atmosphere was changed by the color, temperature, lighting, and etc. in the library. Another

Iowa State University offers a large campus. The campus itself entirely is around the size of my
hometown. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet
spend most of my time in my dorm. Whenever I am not in my dorm or in class though, I often
find myself wandering around campus. When wandering around campus I usually look for the
best spots for me just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are
closer and very appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many
students visit them. What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my
dorm on campus. I live in the Wilson Hall dormitory, known as one of the Towers, and it is quite
far from the main campus. Seeing as I walk everyday to and from the main campus to and from
my dorm, I tend to walk the same route, as to shorten the walk time it takes and be familiar with the
area. On days I walk to my favorite spot, which is the second concrete bench next to the Campanile,
and I just sit there for hours and relax. Wilson Hall's dining hall is called Storms, and is located

may not wait until the last minute to do their projects and papers because resources are more readily
available to them.
PROPOSED ENVIRONMENT
The proposed environment will consist of a fully functioning library that is open to students and
faculty free of charge. If an outside member of the community would like to use the library the
school could charge them a small membership fee. This will help to raise revenue for the college
and the library.
For the first few years the library may be small but as years pass the library can expand to have
more books, magazines, research materials, computers, etc. The library can also share with the main
campus library in order to expand their materials and capabilities. I think many students and teachers
would support the addition of a library to the campus.
When the library is first constructed it should have at least a thousand books, several magazine

Every person has their place. The kind of place where the world could be ending but as long as
their in that special place, they can leave the world in peace. For some it's their hometown, the gym,
a certain cafe or restaurant, or even a random spot with a sentimental meaning. For me, this place is
the Edmon Low Library here at Oklahoma State University. As a high school student, the library
was a place to check out books and print papers for free. The idea of spending hours there was
unheard of, and never spiked an interest in me. Once I started my freshman year in college, this
speculation quickly changed. From the first time I toured Oklahoma State University, I
wondered why the dazzling Georgian style library was so overwhelmingly huge. It was in the
heart of osu near the main campus facilities: the Union, Theta Pond, and various classroom
buildings. Being that the library was such a main attraction, I was curious to know why. I
wondered why there was a cafe and why each level had a different noise limit. All of these things
seemed great, but unnecessary at the same time. After all, the only thing the library was good for
in my mind was basic needs for my english class. My first day at osu I decided to see what all the
hype about this special library was. The more I explored the different levels, the more I found.
Not only were there books, free printing, a cafe, and noise accommodations, but there were also
reserved study rooms, 3D printing, subject librarians, free electronic checkouts, and so much more.
The resources available to me and all OSU students from just a library seemed almost too good to
be true.From the restoring smell of coffee on the first floor, to the antique smell of old books on the
4th floor, nothing makes you want to pull out a good book more than Edmon Low. I was almost
convinced the staff wanted students to move in, being that they are opened 24 hours on weekdays.
With students being so busy, Edom Low is a convenient place to go no matter the time of day.

There were also some students standing just against the wall and smoking cigarettes. Just in the
entrance of building 25, I saw a security guy passing by, and talking to students from table to table.
I think he was trying to tell them to put their phones away and do not leave them at the table
because they can be stolen. While I was getting closer and closer the girl and her friends were
trying to get together in one side and let me pass, and they were kind of slowing down because I
was running into them. But I think I didn't give too much choice to her; she released the umbrella
because she was surprised or afraid; so she didn't resist. But after she released it, she felt weird to
let me take the umbrella; I can tell in her surprising's face. Her friends walked back and all of the
sudden they started to talk in Chinese or Japanese (I don't actually know the difference) like 30
seconds after I took the umbrella and started to walk back in the library after me. The smokers
were watching the scene and one of them was laughing. They started to kind of want to follow
me inside and I didn't just walked away, instead I stopped just inside to look one more time and

ABSTRACT
This study entitled "Automated Record Library System of EMAR Learning Center" is about
presenting a system that aims to automate the manual library record system of EMAR Learning
Center. The automation aims to reduce the process of record keeping and increase the efficiency of

Statement of the Problem
The study proposed a record library system of EMAR Learning Center.
Specifically, it answers the following problem: * What system is an appropriate replacement for
using borrower's cards? * How to lessen the time spent on processing the returned books? * What is
an effective and efficient system on recording newly acquired books and to locate which section a
specific book belongs to within the library?
Objectives of the Study
The goal of the study is to develop an automated record library system for EMAR Learning Center
and help the school satisfy its needs and ease the burden of the manual system.
Specifically, it aims to answer the following problems: * There's no need to use a library card or
borrower's card in order to borrow books from the library because this system will provide a form
that student will fill–up with name and ID number. * This system will provide search tool that will
be used in locating student's form. By this, it will be easier to identify what books and when these
books are being borrowed * This system provide a search tool to make easy in recording the new
incoming books and to identify what section the book belong to.
Significance of the Study

The study is very significant to the following: * To the librarian in terms of manageable record of
books
