Founded in 1886 and represented among the Fortune 500, The Johnson & Johnson company is well–known for being a consumer of packaged goods,
pharmaceutical, and an American multinational medical device manufacturing company (SCW, 2013).
The Johnson & Johnson company and the consumer division are both headquartered in New Jersey (SCW, 2013). TheJohnson & Johnson company
concludes of 250 subsidiary companies and has operations in 57 countries and counting (SCW, 2013). The company's products are sold in
approximately 175 countries (SCW, 2013). During the year of 2008 Johnson & Johnson was noted for the highest worldwide pharmaceutical sales of
$24.6 billion (SCW, 2013).
The Johnson & Johnson brand has a large amount of household names like, Acuvue contact lenses, Neutrogena Skin and Beauty Products, Clean and
Clear facial wash, Tylenol medications, Band–Aid Bandages line, and Johnson's baby products (SCW, 2013).
Johnson & Johnson is very notable for working very close with their supply chain partners; the company also makes it their business to make sure that
the sourcing of raw materials is able to be maintained.
The Johnson & Johnson company has a very distinct product portfolio, and this is why supply chain organization is one of the company's greatest

On January 26, 2011, health care conglomerate Johnson & Johnson announced that earnings had declined in the fourth quarter of the previous year,
and lowered its estimates for its earnings for 2010. The firm claimed that the weaker results could be attributed to the depressed economy and to a
string of product recalls. Sales figures do indicate that Johnson and Johnson has clearly been hurt by 17 recalls since September 2009, covering
several over–the–counter medicines, a batch of contact lenses and some hip replacements.

The most widely known of these is the division that makes consumer products such as Johnson & Johnson baby care products, Band–Aid adhesive strips
and Visine eye drops. The division grew substantially after J&J acquired the consumer health unit of Pfizer in 2006 for $16.6 billion, the biggest in its
120–year old history. The acquisition allowed the firm to add well known products to its line up such as Listerine mouth wash and Benadryl cough
syrup.
But Johnson & Johnson has reaped far more sales and profits from its other two divisions. Its pharmaceuticals division sells several blockbuster drugs
such as anemia drug Procit and schizophrenia drug Risperdal. Its medical devices division is responsible for best selling products such as Depuy
orthopedic joint replacements and Cyper coronary stents. These two divisions tend to generate operating profit margins of around 30%, almost double
those generated by the consumer business.

I became curious why my Mother decided to use Johnson's Baby products. I decided to interview my Mother and find when was the first time I was
introduced to J&J and why did she choose their products. I learned that from birth she used Johnson and Johnson baby powder and shampoo among
other products. She said that "Johnson and Johnson were always a renowned company it 's what they used in the hospital and were sent home with

In 1982, tragedy struck the Chicagoland area when several people died from taking Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide. Johnson & Johnson's
responsive recall of over 31 million bottles of Tylenol prompted a movement that made over–the–counter–medications in addition to millions of other
consumer goods tamperproof. General Robert Wood Johnson's credo– responsibility to the consumers, healthcare professionals, employees, community,
then stakeholders, proved to be a moral compass for the organization (Markel, 2014).
Johnson & Johnson 's response to crisis set a new standard in corporate responsibility and crisis management, one that companies can still learn from
today (Macdonald, 2007). The company made the ethical decision to take a $150 million write–off and a possible loss of $525 million in annual sales
by abandoning the capsules (see appendix 4). In assessing how all involved stakeholders were impacted by this decision, their shareholders' interests
were not ignored because the business decision would create value for the shareholder by creating sustainability of the organization (see appendix 3).
The decision to abandon the capsules demonstrated Johnson & Johnson's organizational priorities including customer safety, social responsibility,

Regarding Johnson & Johnson's earnings per share, we can see that from the total net earnings, each share of the company's common stock is valued
in $4.40 which has significantly decreased from its value in 2008, but once again is over the value of year 2007, probably due to the economic crisis.

"American Gangster" is based on the true story of Frank Lucas' life. It is the story of how he cut out the middleman in the heroin business and the
story of how Ritchie Roberts caught him. Throughout the film we see the parallel between a cop and a criminal as we inch forward to see their lives
finally meet. In the opening scene of the movie we see Frank's character played by Denzel Washington. Right away we are shocked by his violence and

He refers to capitalism, and the free enterprise where as long as you are the best and you are smart your customers do not have to like your product
and you will still be successful. Once you make it impossible for the customer to go anywhere else you begin to monopolize. Not only does this
foreshadow Frank's future. It shows us how true to Americans this film can be. It was not long before this time period America adapted capitalism and
every good thing does comes to an end.
Already five minutes into the film we have the exposition. The time period is set in the late 1960's early 1970's. The audience is given narrative
economy that sets up the time period as well as the location, Harlem, New York. Along with just the basic time and place we clearly see thatFrank
Lucas is the protagonist. We learn from the start that he can be violent. This builds his characters, he has the will to be dominant and gets power, just
as he wants power. From the beginning we are lead to believe Frank will do anything it takes to get what he wants even if that means burning a man
alive. We learn right away this film is about gangsters, about crime, and it is about struggle for power.
After the death of the man in charge Bumpy Johnson, Denzel Washington's Character Frank Lucas struggles to find a better way to make money. He
