Friendship Essay : My True Friendship
When I was young, I didn't have many friends. Now, at the age of twelve I was not quite a social
pariah, as I had three great friends that were bound to me by the virtue of meeting at an early age.
To be truthful, I don't quite remember just how we became friends, just that we did. We somehow
carved a friendship by means that are lost to the mists of time. In my youth, while I was not, as I
mentioned earlier, a popular fellow, my three friends and I managed to create our own niche, our
own little group that could become our refuge, our own world where we could be each other's
strength, entertainment, support in school, and eventually life itself.
We had become what some call 'true' friends – people who you could rely on through the best of
times and the darkest of times. Acquaintances, coworkers and schoolmates came and went, but
friends remained. Eventually, this came to be the foundation of something important in my life .It
taught me something very important– that the measure of friendship meant having true loyalty. So ,
I always believed in, and gave my loyalty to my friends and was given back faith and enduring
companionship. Even as I became a young adult in college, when I started making new friends; I
forged strong, powerful ties; which I hoped would continue into old age.
Sometimes I think about those days, and I wonder if the fact that I tried so hard to create strong ties
was out of fear of rejection and abandonment. The idea of even hurting a friend was

Reflective Essay About Friendship
Having a friendship with someone since you were little is amazing, the bond you form with that
person like a never–ending comforter and someone to always trust and confide in. The day I
moved into the new house and went to see the neighborhood, I knew we would always be close.
Owen and I grew closer every day, quickly becoming the best of friends, and at the time, nothing
was better than having a best friend. Through our awkward years, multiple friend groups coming
and going, the harsh words and the hate from other people, we were always there for each other; he
had my back and I his. Living in the moment and cherishing the things you have while you have
them is one of the most important things in life because you never know when it can all be taken
away...
It was during the eleventh–grade summer that everything changed. The daily talks, sleepovers, and
coming to each other about everything all hindered. Eye contact and smiles were turned to scowling,
pointing, and laughing with the hierarchy of all groups. Being friends with him for so long and
eventually developing feelings that exceeded a friendship, and then just being dropped with no
warning and not having a clue why was heart–wrenching and confusing. The day of the pep–rally I
finally thought that this one–sided feud would be stopped and that we could rekindle our lost
friendship, but I could never be more wrong. Many side glances, smirks, and winks were made, but
none with the loving intent that they used to hold.

Friendship Essay
A friend by definition is someone you know well and regard with affection and trust.
I am not a very outgoing person, and to be totally honest, I am very isolated from other human
beings. Except for my family and people at school. I cannot say who I would like to have as
friend. I never given much thought. Perhaps I like God to be my friend. He is not selfish and very
forgiving. He knows the hearts, seeing you for you; the imperfections, the motives, the joys and
virtues. I could say what qualities a friend should have. A friend is loyal, reliable, trustworthy, and
loving.
The friend is loyal by sticking by you through good times and bad times. She would not gossip
behind your back, spilling intimate details of your life. She would try...show more content...
Trust to share secrets, trust to tell on you if you got a problem, and trust to be honest when asking her
opinion about anything.
And she is loving. A friend is someone sticking closer to you than a sibling. She loves you. And you
love her. You two are close assiblings. She knows everything about you. Likewise, you know
everything about her. They are like family. You would have no problem if they spent the night at
your house. You know each other's quirks and habits and canalways tell when there is something
wrong. You would not hesitate to share your deepest feelings or thoughts with them. "A true
friend will see you through when others see that you are through." A true friend has no problem
correcting you when you are wrong, or being stern with you when you are out of line. Likewise, a
true friend will love you like a member of his own family. He will always be there for you. They
are not perfect, but at least they will always look out for you and never do anything intentionally to
hurt you.
On a final note, I would like to take some time to say that we should always remember keep in
mind what kind of a friend we are to other people. We should always strive to be the best friends
that we can be. Also, as the saying goes, " You can't use your friends and have them too." We
should appreciate and value all friendships that come into our lives, no matter how deep or
superficial. So, I may not a have a "friend" here, but

We've all heard that saying before. Friends are those who will always stay by your side. There are
dozens of other quotes out there that all have about the same meaning. But are they all true? Even
though friends are supposed to always stick together, there's no guarantee that they actually will. In
fact, there are many reasons for why a friendship might end, including physical distance, interest
changes, and the new friends you make. Distance and how often you see each other can affect
friendships more than you may think. It would be wrong to say that friends can stay close when
they are together in person once a year, even with the technology we have today. It's just
something we can't control. When I was little, I had a friend named Mingfei. We went to the
same preschool, and our parents also got along very well with each other. The two of us were
together almost every single day. Even when we ended up going to different schools, we did our
best to get together on weekends and managed to remain close friends. Everything changed during
first grade, when my family and I moved from California to Oregon. Mingfei and I wrote letters,
called, and sent emails very often at first, but as time passed, and we had more and more to do, we
started to contact each other less, and eventually lost touch. Being apart for so long from your friend
can create not only physical, but also inner distance. Some people are fortunate enough to stay in one
place until they go to college, but most

Definition Of Friendship Essay
Friendship: a word familiar to all and found everywhere. A prime example of friendship can be seen
in the Toy Story movies between the main characters, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Throughout the
movies, these two cartoon characters constantly find themselves in unfortunate dilemmas and many
fights. Woody and Buzz, however, quickly learn that they need to work together to solve their
problems and this leads them to become the best of friends. In the movie Monsters Inc., Mike and
Sully The Oxford American Dictionary defines friendship as a relationship between two people who
enjoy mutual affection and regard. Everyone has friendships; however, what defines a true

They can even share their most embarrassing or deepest secrets with each other because they
know their friend will not tell anyone else. True friendship also means that friends know
everything about the other person such as their favorite color, favorite clothing brand, favorite
food, or favorite teacher. Since each friend knows so much about the other, the two friends
practically become the same person or twins. One of my best friends and I exemplify this true
friendship. We have the same interests and agree on everything for the most part. Since we have the
same interests, we sometimes think and say the same things at the same time. This distinct
connection allows you to talk honestly with each other about anything. Lastly, not only does true
friendship require knowing everything about your friend and always being able to lend a helping
hand, true friendship requires each person possessing great listening skills. A great listener picks up
and remembers every word, even the tiniest details. They listen because they truly care about what
you say and want the best for you. From intently listening, true friends can offer solutions to your
problems and find ways to cheer you up. A true friend helps you when life throws you an
unexpected curveball and will always stand by you to help you through the rough

Friendship Essay : My Best Friend
A friend is someone who you trust and enjoy spending time with. Everyone needs a friend because
without friends life would be boring. Friends are important because they boost your happiness and
cut your stress. Friends are easy to find, but a best friend is very hard to find. Best Friends are very
important because they increase your self–confidence, you can share secrets, unlimited laughter, and
adventures. To have a best friend you do not have to know them for a long time you just have to
feel comfortable around them and trust them. One of my best friends name is Pawornwan, but I
call her Bam. She only lets her friends and family call her Bam. she doesn't let people who are not
close to her call her Bam because she doesn't know them and it's awkward for her when they call
her Bam. I met Bam my freshman year of high school, she was new to the school and was also a
freshman. The first time I saw her was in our English class she did not speak much English, but
when I would talk to her I would understand her by her movement of hands when she didn't know
a word. She didn't talk a lot when we were with my old friends, but when she was just with me she
would talk more because she felt comfortable. When I left my old friend group I would only say
"hi" or have a small conversation when I would see her in the hallway. Junior year we ended up
having a class together so we decided to become friends again. Now we are very close more than we
were when we were freshman. She talks more

Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person
who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when
they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special
interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and
depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
There are many illustrations that show why a friend can be a great comforter. For example, if a
student is going through a hard time at school, a friend can offer guidance, encouragement and
support. A true friend is also someone who loves and respects us.
A boyfriend and a girlfriend desire to be with each other. Theylove each other so much that they
just want to be with each other as much as possible. This bond is also present in a good friendship
because it has genuine love. Also, as friends they respect each other. They try to avoid causing
conflicts. They don't make fun of each other, but treat each other with respect.
As friends, we all make sacrifices for each other. Some friends risk their lives for a friend. An
example of this true friendship can be found in the movie, American Pie. Todd had a championship
football game, but on the same day there was an All–State choir going on. Todd and his girlfriend
were both into choir. He couldn't be in two places at once, so he gave up his football

Persuasive Essay About Friendship
When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in
my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It
always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely
socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most
successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy
accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of
friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a
part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to
the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or
positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits
and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one
person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills,
but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep
sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking
and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on
mutual benefits, but

Friendship As A Small Group Of Friends
Friendship in Life Since I can remember I have always been a girl with a small group of friends. In
my school years I would usually hang out with only 2–3 girls in my classroom, and it has always
been that way ever since. I'm a very shy and quiet person; for that reason I've always preferred a
small group of friends. Throughout the years, I've lost some friends on the way but I have also kept
some good friends, and refer them more as best friends. Friendship has become a big part of my life,
and it has taught me what friendship really is and who has been my real friends. Once I
graduated from high school, I moved to Racine WI, to attend college and continue working as a
waitress in a Mexican restaurant. Thanks to that job, I met a girl that till this day has been a
great friend; I can honestly say she's like a sister to me. At first, we would just work together a
couple times a week, but later on we began hanging out together outside of work. When that
started, I just began to trust her more and learned a lot from her in how she is. Since I met her,
she's the type of girl who can easily be talked to, she would get you comfortable talking to her and
she would always make you laugh at the moment you meet her. She's very outgoing girls who even
though we have been through a lot together we have managed to still continue being great friends.
After knowing her for a couple years we became closer and closer, we have our differences, but we
have learned a lot from each other.

Descriptive Essay About Friendship
Friendship seems to be as fleeting as the gold in a sunset. Time after time it seems that watching a
sunset dip back into its iris tinted grave for as long as I can, doesn't make the tenebrosity that
follows any less everlasting. Most people think of familiar faces when they think of friends, while
I think of shades of that awful auric color slowly sifting through my hands as sand to an
hourglass. It was a cold January morning. I jolted awake to the sound of my alarm blaring at me
to emerge from my lifeless cocoon. I groggily prepared myself for the events this grey day had in
store. Even the violets seemed ashen as they peered their heads out of the frost stricken ground. Tire
hit pavement and spun their way up the tall driveway. My heart dropped further into my stomach
with every knock chipping away the faded paint on that old oak door. When the door swung ajar it
presented a familiar face, a face beaming with delight, the face of my best friend Jake. This day, was
the last day I would ever have the privilege to see my pop–punk bud, as he prepared for the next
chapter of his life. My face matched the expression on his as I saw the last little rays of light peer
just over the rims of his aviator glasses.
"Hey dude, glad you could make it!" he said, with filled suitcase tucked behind the door. The close
contact we had kept would soon be broken by thousands of miles of land between us, only to be
traversed by the occasional weekly email.
I felt nothing that day. My mind

Friendship Essay: What Makes A Good Friend?
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times
are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings
of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example,
when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on.
According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your
back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her
support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and
starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in...show more content...
You want friends that show they care and do not resent your achievements. A good friend sees
good in your accomplishments; because of this they will not want you to do poorly and will
always be looking out for you, hoping you do your best. A trustworthy friend is someone you can
count on no matter what. They are someone you can call in the middle of the night and vent to, or
just talk. They are someone who, if they say they are going to do something, they do it and don't
bail out. Good friends are people with whom you can talk to and trust with your secrets. You can
tell a friend anything and know they won't open their mouth just for the fun of it because they
like and respect you too much to hurt you. If you have something you feel like you can't tell
anyone about, they are the friends you can tell. A good friend is someone who when you tell
them personal stuff you don't have to worry, you know your secret is safe. Trusted friends are
those you can tell your flaws to and know your revelations are safe. Sometimes after you tell
people certain information you think: "What in the world was I thinking?" but a trustworthy person
won't ever make you feel like that. What is a loyal friend? A loyal friend is someone who never lets
you down. They are someone who does things with you even though these things maybe totally
boring, but they still do them. Loyal friends won't back out at the last second. They stick with

What is a Friend? Essay
What is a friend? A friend is someone who supports you, sympathizes with you, or patronizes a
group. An easily definition of that would be a person you know, like and trust.
In these tough times we count on friend to help us get through. I like to think of friendship as

after graduating from places like high school or college? Just imagine walking across the stage

A friendship can be everlasting depending on the personalities in that relationship. Sometimes
personalities can change for the good the bad in many friendships. You can never change a
person through a friendship. Differences can set you apart. The definition of a friend has
changed over the years therefore that could be a contributing factor to why we can count our
friend on one hand. Think about it! When separating from friends for a while physically values
and beliefs start to change. Many may argue that is not true, but I will say I have lost many
friends do to personality changes and belief. Some reasons maybe be because everyone in college
likes to smoke and drink. I am not a fan of either which I believe is gross so I drop many friends
due to that reason. I have also lost a lot of friends due to the ways they act towards me or others
when different people are around. In the urban world we call that being "fake." Fake is another
way of saying you aren't what you claim to be. You don't stay true to yourself and totally honest.
On the other side people can change for the good to help each other in a friendship. Friendships
can gain trust through one another in due to the people you are around. In a relationship trust is
being able tell a secret under confidence to other people hoping they wont tell. If you gain some
ones trust when you come to a problem you are likely to come to that person

Friendship is something that many people have experienced in our lives we either had a good

merriamwebster.com defines friendship as" 1.the state of being friends;2.the relationship between

theoretically the definition of friendship is being a company of someone that you share some

Beautiful, dangerous, and heart–wrenching, friendship is not something that can be easily defined. It
is something that must be seen, lived, and experienced.. Poets can write about it, musicians and
sing about it, but until you make a true friend, and become one in return, the definition of
friendship will always be a bit slippery and hard to hold onto. From my experience, this much I
know is true: friends are those people who love you for who you are, and who you want to be.
They know your deepest secrets and understand because they have the same secrets. They are not
afraid to tell you the truth when you really need to hear it, and most importantly, they will always
be there for you. Albert Schweitzer once said "Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame
by another human being. Each of us owes deepest thanks to those who have rekindled this light." So,
to my friends who have rekindled my light, I thank you.

Friend Ship Essay

  • 1. Friendship Essay : My True Friendship When I was young, I didn't have many friends. Now, at the age of twelve I was not quite a social pariah, as I had three great friends that were bound to me by the virtue of meeting at an early age. To be truthful, I don't quite remember just how we became friends, just that we did. We somehow carved a friendship by means that are lost to the mists of time. In my youth, while I was not, as I mentioned earlier, a popular fellow, my three friends and I managed to create our own niche, our own little group that could become our refuge, our own world where we could be each other's strength, entertainment, support in school, and eventually life itself. We had become what some call 'true' friends – people who you could rely on through the best of times and the darkest of times. Acquaintances, coworkers and schoolmates came and went, but friends remained. Eventually, this came to be the foundation of something important in my life .It taught me something very important– that the measure of friendship meant having true loyalty. So , I always believed in, and gave my loyalty to my friends and was given back faith and enduring companionship. Even as I became a young adult in college, when I started making new friends; I forged strong, powerful ties; which I hoped would continue into old age. Sometimes I think about those days, and I wonder if the fact that I tried so hard to create strong ties was out of fear of rejection and abandonment. The idea of even hurting a friend was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Reflective Essay About Friendship Having a friendship with someone since you were little is amazing, the bond you form with that person like a never–ending comforter and someone to always trust and confide in. The day I moved into the new house and went to see the neighborhood, I knew we would always be close. Owen and I grew closer every day, quickly becoming the best of friends, and at the time, nothing was better than having a best friend. Through our awkward years, multiple friend groups coming and going, the harsh words and the hate from other people, we were always there for each other; he had my back and I his. Living in the moment and cherishing the things you have while you have them is one of the most important things in life because you never know when it can all be taken away... It was during the eleventh–grade summer that everything changed. The daily talks, sleepovers, and coming to each other about everything all hindered. Eye contact and smiles were turned to scowling, pointing, and laughing with the hierarchy of all groups. Being friends with him for so long and eventually developing feelings that exceeded a friendship, and then just being dropped with no warning and not having a clue why was heart–wrenching and confusing. The day of the pep–rally I finally thought that this one–sided feud would be stopped and that we could rekindle our lost friendship, but I could never be more wrong. Many side glances, smirks, and winks were made, but none with the loving intent that they used to hold. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Friendship Essay A friend by definition is someone you know well and regard with affection and trust. I am not a very outgoing person, and to be totally honest, I am very isolated from other human beings. Except for my family and people at school. I cannot say who I would like to have as friend. I never given much thought. Perhaps I like God to be my friend. He is not selfish and very forgiving. He knows the hearts, seeing you for you; the imperfections, the motives, the joys and virtues. I could say what qualities a friend should have. A friend is loyal, reliable, trustworthy, and loving. The friend is loyal by sticking by you through good times and bad times. She would not gossip behind your back, spilling intimate details of your life. She would try...show more content... Trust to share secrets, trust to tell on you if you got a problem, and trust to be honest when asking her opinion about anything. And she is loving. A friend is someone sticking closer to you than a sibling. She loves you. And you love her. You two are close assiblings. She knows everything about you. Likewise, you know everything about her. They are like family. You would have no problem if they spent the night at your house. You know each other's quirks and habits and canalways tell when there is something wrong. You would not hesitate to share your deepest feelings or thoughts with them. "A true friend will see you through when others see that you are through." A true friend has no problem correcting you when you are wrong, or being stern with you when you are out of line. Likewise, a true friend will love you like a member of his own family. He will always be there for you. They are not perfect, but at least they will always look out for you and never do anything intentionally to hurt you. On a final note, I would like to take some time to say that we should always remember keep in mind what kind of a friend we are to other people. We should always strive to be the best friends that we can be. Also, as the saying goes, " You can't use your friends and have them too." We should appreciate and value all friendships that come into our lives, no matter how deep or superficial. So, I may not a have a "friend" here, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay About Friendship We've all heard that saying before. Friends are those who will always stay by your side. There are dozens of other quotes out there that all have about the same meaning. But are they all true? Even though friends are supposed to always stick together, there's no guarantee that they actually will. In fact, there are many reasons for why a friendship might end, including physical distance, interest changes, and the new friends you make. Distance and how often you see each other can affect friendships more than you may think. It would be wrong to say that friends can stay close when they are together in person once a year, even with the technology we have today. It's just something we can't control. When I was little, I had a friend named Mingfei. We went to the same preschool, and our parents also got along very well with each other. The two of us were together almost every single day. Even when we ended up going to different schools, we did our best to get together on weekends and managed to remain close friends. Everything changed during first grade, when my family and I moved from California to Oregon. Mingfei and I wrote letters, called, and sent emails very often at first, but as time passed, and we had more and more to do, we started to contact each other less, and eventually lost touch. Being apart for so long from your friend can create not only physical, but also inner distance. Some people are fortunate enough to stay in one place until they go to college, but most Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Definition Of Friendship Essay Friendship: a word familiar to all and found everywhere. A prime example of friendship can be seen in the Toy Story movies between the main characters, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Throughout the movies, these two cartoon characters constantly find themselves in unfortunate dilemmas and many fights. Woody and Buzz, however, quickly learn that they need to work together to solve their problems and this leads them to become the best of friends. In the movie Monsters Inc., Mike and Sully The Oxford American Dictionary defines friendship as a relationship between two people who enjoy mutual affection and regard. Everyone has friendships; however, what defines a true friendship? One aspect of a true friendship includes always being willing to lend...show more content... They can even share their most embarrassing or deepest secrets with each other because they know their friend will not tell anyone else. True friendship also means that friends know everything about the other person such as their favorite color, favorite clothing brand, favorite food, or favorite teacher. Since each friend knows so much about the other, the two friends practically become the same person or twins. One of my best friends and I exemplify this true friendship. We have the same interests and agree on everything for the most part. Since we have the same interests, we sometimes think and say the same things at the same time. This distinct connection allows you to talk honestly with each other about anything. Lastly, not only does true friendship require knowing everything about your friend and always being able to lend a helping hand, true friendship requires each person possessing great listening skills. A great listener picks up and remembers every word, even the tiniest details. They listen because they truly care about what you say and want the best for you. From intently listening, true friends can offer solutions to your problems and find ways to cheer you up. A true friend helps you when life throws you an unexpected curveball and will always stand by you to help you through the rough Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Friendship Essay : My Best Friend A friend is someone who you trust and enjoy spending time with. Everyone needs a friend because without friends life would be boring. Friends are important because they boost your happiness and cut your stress. Friends are easy to find, but a best friend is very hard to find. Best Friends are very important because they increase your self–confidence, you can share secrets, unlimited laughter, and adventures. To have a best friend you do not have to know them for a long time you just have to feel comfortable around them and trust them. One of my best friends name is Pawornwan, but I call her Bam. She only lets her friends and family call her Bam. she doesn't let people who are not close to her call her Bam because she doesn't know them and it's awkward for her when they call her Bam. I met Bam my freshman year of high school, she was new to the school and was also a freshman. The first time I saw her was in our English class she did not speak much English, but when I would talk to her I would understand her by her movement of hands when she didn't know a word. She didn't talk a lot when we were with my old friends, but when she was just with me she would talk more because she felt comfortable. When I left my old friend group I would only say "hi" or have a small conversation when I would see her in the hallway. Junior year we ended up having a class together so we decided to become friends again. Now we are very close more than we were when we were freshman. • 8. Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits. There are many illustrations that show why a friend can be a great comforter. For example, if a student is going through a hard time at school, a friend can offer guidance, encouragement and support. A true friend is also someone who loves and respects us. A boyfriend and a girlfriend desire to be with each other. Theylove each other so much that they just want to be with each other as much as possible. This bond is also present in a good friendship because it has genuine love. Also, as friends they respect each other. They try to avoid causing conflicts. They don't make fun of each other, but treat each other with respect. As friends, we all make sacrifices for each other. Some friends risk their lives for a friend. An example of this true friendship can be found in the movie, American Pie. Todd had a championship football game, but on the same day there was an All–State choir going on. Todd and his girlfriend were both into choir. He couldn't be in two places at once, so he gave up his football Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay About Friendship When I was in pre–school, I formed a conspiracy in order to become the friend of this one girl in my class. From that point on, friendship had always been this equation–esque problem to solve. It always was highly difficult to find someone to connect with on a platonic level. I was extremely socially anxious and had no idea of how to actually make friends. All of my healthiest and most successful friendships were not made through my previous methods, but were all rather happy accidents. However, luck combined with mutual characteristics are not the only aspects of friendships with which one concerns his or herself. When making a friend, one is bound to lose a part of themselves in that other person. This happens when a person makes any sort of devotion to the other, whether miniscule of utmost importance. Whether or not this predicament is negative or positive depends on the part they lose. A negative predicament may include the loss of good habits and demeanors replaced by destructive or unhealthy behavior. A positive situation may include one person being a sort of foil to the other's personality. For example, one friend may lack social skills, but has confidence in his or herself while the other friend might be highly gregarious but has deep sated insecurities. While in a good, healthy friendship, they start to lose the parts that may be lacking and pick up those that better show the other facets of their personality. The friendship is not based on mutual benefits, but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Friendship As A Small Group Of Friends Friendship in Life Since I can remember I have always been a girl with a small group of friends. In my school years I would usually hang out with only 2–3 girls in my classroom, and it has always been that way ever since. I'm a very shy and quiet person; for that reason I've always preferred a small group of friends. Throughout the years, I've lost some friends on the way but I have also kept some good friends, and refer them more as best friends. Friendship has become a big part of my life, and it has taught me what friendship really is and who has been my real friends. Once I graduated from high school, I moved to Racine WI, to attend college and continue working as a waitress in a Mexican restaurant. Thanks to that job, I met a girl that till this day has been a great friend; I can honestly say she's like a sister to me. At first, we would just work together a couple times a week, but later on we began hanging out together outside of work. When that started, I just began to trust her more and learned a lot from her in how she is. Since I met her, she's the type of girl who can easily be talked to, she would get you comfortable talking to her and she would always make you laugh at the moment you meet her. She's very outgoing girls who even though we have been through a lot together we have managed to still continue being great friends. After knowing her for a couple years we became closer and closer, we have our differences, but we have learned a lot from each other. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Descriptive Essay About Friendship Friendship seems to be as fleeting as the gold in a sunset. Time after time it seems that watching a sunset dip back into its iris tinted grave for as long as I can, doesn't make the tenebrosity that follows any less everlasting. Most people think of familiar faces when they think of friends, while I think of shades of that awful auric color slowly sifting through my hands as sand to an hourglass. It was a cold January morning. I jolted awake to the sound of my alarm blaring at me to emerge from my lifeless cocoon. I groggily prepared myself for the events this grey day had in store. Even the violets seemed ashen as they peered their heads out of the frost stricken ground. Tire hit pavement and spun their way up the tall driveway. My heart dropped further into my stomach with every knock chipping away the faded paint on that old oak door. When the door swung ajar it presented a familiar face, a face beaming with delight, the face of my best friend Jake. This day, was the last day I would ever have the privilege to see my pop–punk bud, as he prepared for the next chapter of his life. My face matched the expression on his as I saw the last little rays of light peer just over the rims of his aviator glasses. "Hey dude, glad you could make it!" he said, with filled suitcase tucked behind the door. The close contact we had kept would soon be broken by thousands of miles of land between us, only to be traversed by the occasional weekly email. I felt nothing that day. • 12. Friendship Essay: What Makes A Good Friend? A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. You want friends that show they care and do not resent your achievements. A good friend sees good in your accomplishments; because of this they will not want you to do poorly and will always be looking out for you, hoping you do your best. A trustworthy friend is someone you can count on no matter what. They are someone you can call in the middle of the night and vent to, or just talk. They are someone who, if they say they are going to do something, they do it and don't bail out. Good friends are people with whom you can talk to and trust with your secrets. You can tell a friend anything and know they won't open their mouth just for the fun of it because they like and respect you too much to hurt you. If you have something you feel like you can't tell anyone about, they are the friends you can tell. A good friend is someone who when you tell them personal stuff you don't have to worry, you know your secret is safe. Trusted friends are those you can tell your flaws to and know your revelations are safe. Sometimes after you tell people certain information you think: "What in the world was I thinking?" but a trustworthy person won't ever make you feel like that. What is a loyal friend? I shut off the computer and send a video chat request, a few seconds later she picked up. "What's going on?" I asked with great concern. "I'm just tired, I tried that before. It doesn't hurt, don't worry." she answered giggling. "So you are doing it again? Why?" I asked trying to keep calm. "She hated me, want me to go die." She stated and waving her arm. She is starting to freak me out, it's the first time I have ever met a situation like this. We talked for hours and hours, she told me about her life, her parents, her siblings, and school. All of her problems, thoughts, and concerns. She is on the edge; she is so stressed out about everything. I tried the best to comfort her, discussing about her career, all the places we want to go together, talking about our favorite shows and getting celebrities' autograph. Then, around three o'clock in the morning she calmed down. We promised if anything significant happened in our lives, we will tell each other and not do dumb things. A friendship can be everlasting depending on the personalities in that relationship. Sometimes personalities can change for the good the bad in many friendships. You can never change a person through a friendship. Differences can set you apart. The definition of a friend has changed over the years therefore that could be a contributing factor to why we can count our friend on one hand. Think about it! When separating from friends for a while physically values and beliefs start to change. Many may argue that is not true, but I will say I have lost many friends do to personality changes and belief. Some reasons maybe be because everyone in college likes to smoke and drink. I am not a fan of either which I believe is gross so I drop many friends due to that reason. I have also lost a lot of friends due to the ways they act towards me or others when different people are around. In the urban world we call that being "fake." Fake is another way of saying you aren't what you claim to be. You don't stay true to yourself and totally honest. On the other side people can change for the good to help each other in a friendship. I somehow found a group of guys, which like me did not have the greatest social lives. One of these guys introduced me to a girl named Lindsay Schiller. She just began to talk to me as though I was a friend she had known her entire life, we immediately began joking about teenagers working in 7–11's, and made fun of the way our professors dramatized certain aspects of their classes, and satirized her professor's methodology of hand–signals for facts, generalizations, and cause/effect. Finding common ground in our senses of humor, and love of the certain TV shows, we grew acquainted with each other. Later in the year we started dating and began to hang out with each other on more of regular bases. With her being from Basalt Colorado and me being from Grove, Oklahoma, we had a lot of differences and it seemed as though we always had something to talk about, even if it was pointless and had no meaning behind it. It is something that must be seen, lived, and experienced.. Poets can write about it, musicians and sing about it, but until you make a true friend, and become one in return, the definition of friendship will always be a bit slippery and hard to hold onto. From my experience, this much I know is true: friends are those people who love you for who you are, and who you want to be. They know your deepest secrets and understand because they have the same secrets. They are not afraid to tell you the truth when you really need to hear it, and most importantly, they will always be there for you.
