NEPHILA KUHLII
Nephila Kuhlii Deloschall,
1859 is a spider in the
family of Tetragnathidae.
This spider is usually found
in the primary and
secondary forest, wasteland
and gardens in India, Japan,
Northern Australia, Sri
Lanka, Myanmar and Papua
New Guinea.
SENSES
Sight
Cephalothorax- Thin and flat with the cephalus
raised.
Abdomen-long, rounded, narrowing gradually
to a rounded posterior and wide in
the front
Hearing
Doesn’t produce sound
Taste
According to people who eat spider before,
it slightly bitter but no taste

Melastoma Malabatricum
MELASTOMA MALABATRICUM
Melastoma Malabatricum is a
flowering plant in the family of
Melastomataceae. It is also
known as Singapore
Rhododendron, Malabar
Melastone, Indian Rhododendron
and also Senduduk in Malay.
This plant is usually found
between 100 and 2800m on
sparse forests and grasslands in
China, Burma, Malaysia, Japan,
Cambodia, Loas, Philippines,
Thailand, India and Vietnam.
SENSES
Medical Properties (Particularly the white flowers)
-Leaves, shoots & roots used to treat stomachache& diar
-Roots & leaves are applied to wounds & lesions to help with the
healing process
-Also used in the treatment of hemorrhoids
-Roots can be used as a mouth wash to cure toothache
USAGE
Sight
Flower- Eye catching purplish-pink petals with yellow stamen
Leaves- Dark green coloured leaves with 3-5 longitudinal veins
Stem- Redish and covered with bristly scales
Fruits- Berry-like, dark purple when ripe
Feel
Stem & leaves- Rough as they are covered with fine
bristles
Flower (Petals)- Soft and smooth
Taste
Leaves- Taste sour because it contain a large amount of
oxalic acid
Fruits- Taste sweet & slightly bitter
Smell
Flower- Sweet smelling
Roots- Has a strong but pleasant aromatic smell
Hearing
Doesn’t produce sounds
