Chitalkar and his team devise a useful solution. “In seven years of delivering web
& mobile technology, we realized how well some of the best companies used their
own data to grow and beat competition,” he says. With over 600 SME customers
and a realization about the growing importance of data, Kumo Apps forayed into
the field service management industry with a core focus on data intelligence.
The first product fashioned with this thought process is KumoTeam. The journey
from product conception to execution has taken just over 18 months. “With the
help of lead customers, KumoTeam is now a stable and mature product that is
gaining traction everyday,” says Chitalkar.
According to him, extensive customization and data intelligence are key attributes
that distinguish KumoTeam from other, similar solutions in the market.
Customization, within Kumo apps, can take on several forms, whether it involves
custom third-party integrations, one-on-one consulting sessions, or configuring
customer-defined workflows within the application. “We want to make sure that
using KumoTeam, a service company can see a measurable difference,” says
Chitalkar.

movement, KumoTeam also has marketing features. Thus, you can the application
to measure and track ad sources that bring in most revenue. Similarly, the call
integration (marketing tracking) feature helps business owners rank jobs based on
revenue and quantify costs associated with the business. “We believe that there is
no point doing anything unless you can measure and improve it,” says Chitalkar.
He points to the enormous value derived from such features, including reports
that can be generated from this feature.
Managing Your Team Using KumoTeam
The crux of KumoTeam resides in a control center or dashboard. Using this
screen, you can view a snapshot of your assignments, jobs, skill sets availability
and job statuses. Before the dashboard is configured, however, you need to set up
your details within the system. This means you need to configure personal and
work information, including home and work addresses. You can also manually
configure or add employees within the system. Finally, you need to configure
payment types within the system.
KumoTeam offers you the option to accept payments in cash, check, PayPal, or an
online payment system. One of the most useful features in the system is the Live
MapView,

4. which is a visual representation of your field executive locations within the system.
The application also has a customer feedback section, which enables your small
business to record customer feedback from multiple sources. This data aggregates
into a 5 start rating system that automatically starts to attach a value to each
customer thereby showing the service company which customers are happiest,
give the most revenue & consume the least cost.
The dashboard displays all of this information and, also, converts this information
into easy-to-understand visual analytics. Because it is a field service management
app, KumoTeam has iOS and Android apps that can be installed on your
smartphone. Thus, you can assign field jobs using your mobile phone.
Pros and Cons
There are several reasons to like KumoTeam. The most important one is that
simplifies field service management and helps broaden its applications. It helps
small businesses create a truly mobile organization. Because it has an extensive
interface and simple workflow, you can easily track and monitor your field service
employees using the application. Similarly, the integrated marketing module helps
you align your marketing efforts with field services management, which are two
completely disparate fields.

5. I also liked the easy search functionality within the app. You can search by Job ID,
assignments, skill sets, job categories, and status. Finally, the solution’s extensive
reporting functionality helps you generate metrics and data related to your efforts,
thus making your small business or enterprise intelligent and responsive to
customer needs.
KumoTeam could improve its interface, however. In its current form, the interface
is cluttered and has far too many elements. It should be simplified to reflect fewer
options and more colors and visual options. We have been told by the team that
users should expect to see a new UI in the coming weeks that will fix this issue.
Pricing
The pricing scheme is another reason to love the application. KumoTeam has a
single tier of pricing and charges a flat rate for use. Only the numbers of technician
users or people who are out in the field using the solution’s apps are billed.
Administrative functionaries and managers are included as part of the solution for
free.
