A large transportation client needed an end-to-end solution to manage, track, control, and analyze its annual $55 million
utility spend (over 20,000 utility accounts translating to about 220,000 utility bills received annually).
The ProKarma solution consisted of complete bill payment services with centralized invoice receipt for both paper and
EDI bills. The utility account inventory is now actively tracked for missing bills to ensure all anticipated bill images per
month are keyed in accurately and paid on time. ProKarma’s single-entry, double verification process ensured 100% bill
data accuracy year-to-date.The result: significant savings on managing data for gas utility accounts by having charge-level
detail properly classified and grouped. This ensures an accurate comparison of the effective gas rates across all accounts
and enables the procurement team to negotiate and enter into proper contracts in deregulated markets.

A large utility analytics and management company (with a diversified portfolio of clients) was seeking a tool that could
capture highly accurate utility bill data and feed it to an in-house utility analytics tool. The goal was to more effectively
analyze the consumption and utility spend. In addition, the company needed a partner whose data capture process could
scale to large volumes quickly.
Without compromising quality, data accuracy, or deadlines, ProKarma leveraged its ability to quickly scale the data pro-
cessing capacity to ensure the partner’s expectations were met. ProKarma’s strength is having an IT services division in
addition to its Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) practice. Both teams helped develop the data exchange interface
and integrated two systems to become one efficient solution. The bill data exchange was done through an on-demand
