Gingivitis is a mild form of gum or periodontal disease. Gingivitis is brought about by the plaque buildup in the teeth, causing bacteria, and affecting the gums. The gingiva, which is the part of your child’s gum around the base of the teeth, becomes irritated, red, and inflamed. Sometimes, gingivitis can cause your child’s gums to bleed. Gingivitis is a common oral problem in children. Kids sometimes suffer from poor dental hygiene. They are not able to brush and floss their teeth regularly. Also, even when kids brush their teeth, sometimes they are not able to remove all the plaque in the teeth, especially in the hard to reach areas. Kids also suffer from poor eating habits. When a child is not able to take in the right nutrients that his or her body needs, your child’s body will have a hard time to fight infection, in this case, gingivitis.
