Our Mission
T-Town PAWS, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting animal welfare and
safety and eliminating animal over-population, suffering and needless death in our community.
How we accomplish our mission
What began as a small spay/neuter group in 1997 has matured into an animal welfare leader
with a three-pronged approach:
Pet Rescue and Adoption
PAWS’ rescue and adoption program saved hundreds of pets last year
PAWS’ brand new pet re-homing assistance program for the public has already
successfully placed numerous community dogs and cats through our community binder,
website and social media outlets.
PAWS provides advertising and support for lost and found pets in the community,
helping reunite pets with their families
Humane Education
PAWS provides responsible pet ownership education for school children and
community youth groups
PAWS offers humane education programs for adult groups
PAWS proudly provides assisted living and nursing home pet visits, contributing to the
health and welfare of our senior population
Spay/Neuter Assistance
PAWS actively promotes spay/neuter of all adoptable pets in the community, including
sterilizing all of our rescue pets
PAWS provides community information and referral for all animal welfare needs
PAWS is currently researching other high-impact community spay/neuter programs to
broaden our outreach

FurBall 2011
Our Signature Event!
FurBall 2010 wasn't just about dining and dancing
for the benefit of T-Town PAWS’ shelter pets, it
was also a night of outlandish hairstyles and
hair-raising competition! Along with a fabulous
silent auction and live music, stylists from
Tuscaloosa's top salons raised money and created their most
outrageous hairstyles.
Our 2010 event generated over $16,000 to help feed, vaccinate, spay/neuter and place hundreds of
homeless pets in loving homes. FurBall 2011 is set to be a hair-raising success! This year’s event
features a new twist - a costume bash on Halloween night! It’s sure to be a fun-filled night for
pet-lovers and the community!
Pet Photo Contest
Community members enter their favorite pet photos in our online Pet Photo
Contest for a chance to be featured in our PawPrints Poster Calendar.
Sharing our website can get really competitive, considering nearly 8,300 votes
were cast last year alone. To get more votes, contestants email our website
link to friends, family, coworkers and neighbors so their furry friend can
receive the top prize - a photo shoot from a local professional photographer!
The top 20 vote-getting photographs will be featured on this year’s poster
calendar, with the top photograph featured front and center for 2012.
Adoption & Community Outreach Events
T-Town PAWS is constantly hosting events in the community to promote
our mission. Several times a year, we feature pets in our Pet Supplies
Plus Adoption Room to find loving, forever homes for dogs and cats.
Each February, PAWS celebrates SpayDay in our community. This year,
we are holding a SpayDay 2011 event to promote low-cost spay/neuter
options in the community.
We are paw’tnering with Theater Tuscaloosa for their April show, Sylvia,
and in May we will be at Midtown Village for a community adoption
event. Plus, be on the lookout for PAWS at Pet-a-Palooza in Hoover this year. As you can see, we
stay busy promoting our mission in the Tuscaloosa Community, but it’s worth it for the animals.
