Codes and Conventions
of a Radio Trailer
•They are usually an average length of 30 to 40
seconds long, this is to give out all the
information without boring them.
•The title, date, time and channel it is being
shown on should be said during the trailer.
•Both males and females are more likely respond
to a trailer that uses a male voice-over.
A radio trailer should contain this following elements:
•A voice over
•Background music that goes with the theme of the
documentary
•A clip of audio taking from the show it is advertising
•A slogan that is catchy and something that will get stuck in the
audiences heads
