Topics of Study
Reading:
Getting Lost in Stories. We will discuss the Reader’s Workshop classroom and
how to choose books and discuss getting lost in our books. Your child should be
reading for about 20 min. every night. You may read with him/her or take turns
reading! Spend time reading together!
Writing:
Important Dates: Our study will include the writing process; drafting, editing, revising, and
publishing a personal narrative.
July 9: First Day of School
**Please send in photographs and stickers that your child can use to decorate
July 22- Open House- their writer’s notebook. Due Thursday, July 15th.

Math:
July 30 –Early Release at
Review of addition facts; Graphing, Place Value, and number sense

Science: Human Body – the purpose of the skeleton, bones, joints, and how
we move!
Social Studies: Building a community in our classroom. Discuss the changes
in families and communities.
Agendas! Please send in $5 for an agenda for your child by next week. We will
use it to copy homework, for spelling quizzes, and it is full of great information.
