3. THE SONG
I will be creating a music video for the song “Photographs” by Rihanna.
I feel that this song is very relatable especially to the younger
generation, mostly girls but boys can also relate to this feeling of heart break
and reminiscences.
The lyrics to this song are simply but meaningful and they create a good
narrative for me to work with, some include:
“Here’s a little story I got to tell, about this boy I know so well,
Back in the day was cool and all.. We fell in love I fell in love.”
4. THE ARTIST
I Would like to work with a young female, around the age of 17+
Like most pop stars these days she should follow the present fashion trends
and should be very well presented in this video.
Here are some ideas for costume:
My Artists Name is going to be “Scarlette J” as I feel that it sticks in the mind
and its quite an uncommon name giving it a unique feel./
5. NARRATIVE
The narrative of my music consists of a situation post break up where my
artist is expressing throughout the video how she feels and also reminiscing
about the past.
The creativity within the music video comes into view during the chorus when
polaroid pictures cascade into shot showing showing photographs of the
couple hence the lyrics “all I’ve got, all I’ve got, all I’ve got are these
photographs. I would then like to zoom into a particular photograph and have
the next scene come alive through the photograph. I would also like to film
parts of the of the video in black and white or in bleak vintage tones.
I will be filming in wide screen format -16:9.
7. GENRE AND TARGET AUDIENCE
The Genre of my The music video is targeted at
Artist and music boys and girls of the age of 17+ as
video is Pop/Rnb as they can best relate to the
it is not quite as narrative. At this age you begin to
understand love and relationships
limited as RnB but is
more and are more likely to get
not as up-beat as your into a relationship that may end in
usual pop video. this way therefore relating to the
narrative.
