AUDIO AND EDITINGWhen editing the recorded audio, we used audacity, an advanced piece
of audio software which allowed us to record, upload, cut and edit
sound and audio. This software allowed us to record our voices for
diegetic sound when we read from the planned script. The software
also allowed us to add a backing track to act as non diegetic sound but
also a format of continuity. As we decided to use the theme of the
opening title sequence within the opening title sequence, to create this
convergent link across platforms of advertisement . This will also help
us to subconsciously condition the listeners to recognise the audio but
also associate this with the broadcast, acting as a reminder for them to
watch, which is why we included the time and date of the broadcast.
This is the same for the diegetic sounds, we decided that we would use
the same voices used within our broadcast, so we will use a female
anchor and female reporter to create this recolonization, but also to
promote the large female prescience within our production, as we
know from research that our audience is largely of a male
demographic, so it is important that we attempt to reach out to both
genders.

THE SCRIPT-FIRST DRAFT
Tonight on The Late News we will be discussing if
bonfire night is becoming a hotspot for crime in our
local area and on a brighter note music to the ears of
children. Also on our show we will be interviewing
police constable Grant to remind both the young and
old of the dangers of playing with fire. Later on the
show we will be talking to a band from the midlands
who made a donation to the local children's hospital,
followed by your weather. All this and more tonight on
the late new, channel 4 at nine, stay tuned.

THE SCRIPT- ADJUSTMENTS
We decided it would be best to make a few adjustments to the script, to make sure we did not
exceed the time limit. After practicing the script we cut out certain complicated words that
made reading the script tricky to say and also cut out unnecessary information which revealed
too much about the show,, so we could maintain the mystery of tonight's broadcast, as
demonstrated by Barthes enigma theory. This allowed us to shorten the script my 20 seconds.
We also made sure that language we were using was perhaps more informal, to make sure we
were directing ourselves towards our younger target audience .
