not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
• Does not behave itself rudely, seeks not
her own, is not easily provoked, keeps no
record of evil;
3. Agape (Love)
• A love that puts others ahead of self
• A love that allows us to even love our
enemies!

enemies, bless them that curse you, do good

despitefully use you, and persecute you;

brethren, our labor and travail: for laboring night
and day, because we would not be a burden
unto any of you, we preached unto you the
gospel of God.
• 1 Thessalonians 2:10 You are witnesses, and
God also, how holy and just and unblamable
was our behavior among you that believe:
6. The apostles instruction
• Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in
behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers,
not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
• Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to
be sensible, to love their husbands, to love their
children,
• Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home,
good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word
of God be not blasphemed.

• Love is unselfish
• Unselfish means……
• Willing to put the needs or wishes of
others before one’s own…the idea is
generous

• Let no man seek his own, but every man
another's good.
• We just don’t look out for our own welfare
but for the welfare of others.
9. Joseph

thought evil against me; but God meant it
unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this
day, to save many people alive.
• Genesis 50:21 Now therefore fear not: I
will nourish you, and your little ones. And
he comforted them, and spoke kindly unto
them.
10. Is not easily provoked
• Love keeps calm even when the situation is difficult!
• The meaning of the phrase is, that a man who is
under the influence of love is not prone to violent
anger or exasperation; it is not his/her character to
be hasty, overly excited, or overly passionate.
• He/she is calm, serious, patient. He/she looks
soberly at things; and though he may be injured yet
he governs his passions, restrains his temper,
subdues his feelings.
11. Words of Wisdom
• Proverbs 14:17 He that is quickly angry deals
foolishly: and a man of wicked intentions is
hated.

wrath: fret not yourself in any way to do evil.

• Thinks no evil
• Keeps no record of evil
• Takes no account of evil
13. Keeps no record of Evil
• It means, does not suppose, charge, or
impute to a man any evil intention or
design.
• We desire to think well of the man whom
we love; nor will we think ill of his motives,
opinions, or conduct, until we are
compelled to do so by the most
irrefragable evidence.
14. LOVE keeps no record of evil!
• Does not “keep books” on what people do
to you and is always ready to forgive.
• 1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or
railing for railing: but on the contrary
blessing; knowing that you are unto this
called, that you should inherit a blessing.
