3. Attributes of GOD
• Titus 1:1-2 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an
apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen
of GOD and the knowledge of the truth which is
according to godliness,
• In hope of eternal life, which GOD, who cannot lie,
promised long ages ago.
4. Attributes of GOD
• James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I
am being tempted by GOD”; for GOD cannot be
tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt
anyone!
• Notice —— GOD cannot be tempted by evil
5. Attributes of GOD
• Acts 17:24-28 …turn with me please…
• Notice vs. 25—-….as though he needed anything,
since He Himself gives to all people life and breath
and all things;
God is——Self-Sufficient
6. God became flesh!
• John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt
among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the of
only begotten from the Father, full of grace and
truth. (ref. John 1:1-4)
• John 6:38-40 …turn with me please…
• Philippians 2:3-12 …turn with me please…
7. God became flesh!
• Galatians 4:4-5 But when the fullness of time
came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman,
born under the Law,
• so that He might redeem those who were under the
Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
8. Why did GOD become
flesh?
• To do the will of the FATHER.
• So that we can have grace and truth.
• So that we can have forgiveness of our sins.
• So that we can have eternal life.
• So that we can have the perfect example to follow.
9. Why did GOD become
flesh?
• As God He cannot be tempted as man He can!
• As God He cannot lie, as a man He can!
• As God He is self-sufficient, as a man He is not!
10. Why did GOD become
flesh?
Because God is LOVE! ( 1 John 4:8)
• 1 John 3:16-19 We know love by this, that He laid
down His life for use; and we ought to lay down our lives
for the brethren.
• But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his
brother in need and closes his heart against him, how
does the love of GOD abide in him?
• Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue,
but in deed and truth.
11. Why did GOD become
flesh?
• GOD became flesh so that He could relate to us!
Next Lord’s day we will discuss how He relates to
us through His humanity!
