Basement mold can sneak up on you. Basements are naturally wet. If left alone, mold can grow on the wet dirt on surfaces. Over time, cracks let water seep in. Since mold grows in warm, dark and damp places, basements are a natural habitat for mold. Paper stored in basements us eaten by mold. Cluttered basements stifle air flow letting mold flourish especially on paper products and wood. Dehumidify your basement with a basement dehumidifier to dry out the basement. Paper products on the floor of the basement are trouble. Mold is having a food fest here. Black mold
eats away at the wet porous paper. The rusty can is also a sign of the evident moisture on the floor. Do
not store paper products in the basement to prevent mold. Run basement dehumidifier to dehumidify
your basement.
3. Cluttered Basement Mold
Mold grows quite well in clutter. The lack of air flow assists as well as the moisture trapped beneath the
piles. Since moisture naturally occurs in basements, it is only a matter of time that all these cardboard
boxes will turn black.

Over time, cracks form in the walls of basements letting water seep in. One must
take care of these cracks to avoid basement mold. If the basement is too wet,
mold growth will occur on the walls. There does not have to be a leak.
8. Basement Mold Growth on Wall
Above picture looks like someone painted black round circles randomly on the
wall. Guess mold is an artist while making you sick and ruining your basement. Do
not have carpeting in the basement. Unless the basement is above ground, there
is no way to keep the basement dry enough to keep carpeting mold free.
9. Basement Mold Creeping up Steps
This looks like the invasion of the black mold invader. Ready to steal health,
home and destroy your possessions right beneath your nose. Mold is invisible
and travels throughout the house. If someone has serious basement mold,
everything in the house is moldy. Problem is that they get used to the smell and
feel lousy all the time and don’t know why.

Someone stood on top the stairs and threw these books down to the basement. Should have just
thrown them in the garbage for all the damage created.
