    HE PERUVIAN PASO HORSE

ORGANISED BY:

                                          /
                WWW.HARASAMPASCACHI.COM INFO@HARASAMPASCACHI.COM
Haras Ampascachi is an establishment dedicated to the breeding,
raising, training and trading of the Peruvian Paso Horse, and it
carries out its activities in the Traslasierra Valley, located in the
Province of Cordoba, in the Argentine Republic.

Our deep love and commitment that link us with these magnificent
horses, have promoted this seminar, which is organised in order to
preserve its main characteristics, bearing in mind both the user as
well as the spread of the breed and its growth in the market.

We know that a badly tamed horse may spoil genetic excellence;
that is why this seminar is geared towards breeders and owners who
wish to increase their knowledge and improve their skills in taming
and training and educating the Peruvian Paso Horse breed.

The topics deal with the techniques, details and secrets of the
taming of a Peruvian Paso Horse, applying didactic methods which
the attendants will find useful when guiding their riders in the day
to day work with each animal. In order to achieve this, we will
work on the communication with the horse, based on the principle
of rational taming, so as to achieve docility and obedience via
leadership and not by submission.

The programme is geared towards reinforcing the link between the
rider and the horse, developing the talent and the equestrian art,
putting emphasising on the traditions, with the aim of preserving
the ancestral pleasure of riding.
For this reason, we have developed a programme in which —from
the exercises of taming (foot on the ground), to the mounted and
perfectly bridled horse— we will show all the traditional exercises
of taming according to the Peruvian way, and their work
instruments as well.
The dynamics of the classes will include a theoretical part, with
demonstrations and practical exercises where the participants,
guided by the speakers, will apply on tamed horses, each one of the
developed steps.
The theoretical classes will be in the morning and the practical
ones in the afternoon.
These activities will be complemented with two lectures, followed
by a debate between the attendants and the speaker. All the
contents will be presented both in English and Spanish

For the presentation of the different topics and the development of
the activities, we have invited important judges from Peru, who
also are committed breeders, and train and tame their own horses;
and a veterinarian specialised in body language, horse ethology
and psychology, who has carried her knowledge worldwide.

Through this meeting, we want to offer breeders and users of this
race, a place where there is room not only for knowledge, but also
comradeship and the exchange of experiences. The beauty of the
surrounding landscape, the comfort of our cottage, the regional
cuisine accompanied with Argentine wines and music will provide
a favourable environment for an unforgettable experience.
LECTURERS

D. JOSÉ MANUEL RIZO PATRÓN (PERU)
Breeder from Peru, and Agronomist Engineer by profession
His first contact with ANCPCPP was in 1958, through his uncle Eduardo Rizo,
presenting horses from his uncle’s breeding ranch and others breeders from
    Peru.
In 1962 he starts his own breeding and he presents his own horse, totally
completed by him, and he achieves his first mare muzzle champion in 1972.
He has been an official member of the Peruvian National Association since
1985 and he belonged to the ANCPCPP (National Peruvian Horse Association)
of Ecuador for many years, a country where he lived for 20 years.
Since 1978, he has been official Judge in two national contests in Mamacona
and in more than 50 National and International contests.
He participated as an exhibitor at the CPP Congress held in Arequipa in 2004,

generation —maybe the last one— who used the PPH up to 11 hours on a
    working day.
He has had a long career as a judge, which dates back to the 1960’s. Since he
was 14, he has been a judge assistant to renown breeders such as Don Luis
Ascásubi, Antonio Graña Elizalde, Mario Cánepa y Carlos Luna, whose work
has left its mark on the race in the past century.
He is the nephew of Don José Musante, founder of ANCPCPP; he is a lifelong
member of this entity, to which he has belonged since 1964.
He was a judge in the first departmental competition in Lima in 1976, and in
the last National one in the USA. Besides, he will be the Official Judge at the
Mamacona National contest in 2007, which will take place from September
    16th to 23rd.
Besides, he is a teacher at the Seminar which is part of the training for new
judges organised by the ANCPCPP in Mamacona and he has published articles

Haras Ampascachi is an establishment dedicated to the breeding, raising, training and trading of the Peruvian Paso Horse, and it carries out its activities in the Traslasierra Valley, located in the Province of Cordoba, in the Argentine Republic. Our deep love and commitment that link us with these magnificent horses, have promoted this seminar, which is organised in order to preserve its main characteristics, bearing in mind both the user as well as the spread of the breed and its growth in the market. We know that a badly tamed horse may spoil genetic excellence; that is why this seminar is geared towards breeders and owners who wish to increase their knowledge and improve their skills in taming and training and educating the Peruvian Paso Horse breed. The topics deal with the techniques, details and secrets of the taming of a Peruvian Paso Horse, applying didactic methods which the attendants will find useful when guiding their riders in the day to day work with each animal. The programme is geared towards reinforcing the link between the rider and the horse, developing the talent and the equestrian art, putting emphasising on the traditions, with the aim of preserving the ancestral pleasure of riding. For this reason, we have developed a programme in which —from the exercises of taming (foot on the ground), to the mounted and perfectly bridled horse— we will show all the traditional exercises of taming according to the Peruvian way, and their work instruments as well.

The dynamics of the classes will include a theoretical part, with demonstrations and practical exercises where the participants, guided by the speakers, will apply on tamed horses, each one of the developed steps. The theoretical classes will be in the morning and the practical ones in the afternoon. These activities will be complemented with two lectures, followed by a debate between the attendants and the speaker. All the contents will be presented both in English and Spanish For the presentation of the different topics and the development of the activities, we have invited important judges from Peru, who also are committed breeders, and train and tame their own horses; and a veterinarian specialised in body language, horse ethology and psychology, who has carried her knowledge worldwide. Through this meeting, we want to offer breeders and users of this race, a place where there is room not only for knowledge, but also comradeship and the exchange of experiences. The beauty of the surrounding landscape, the comfort of our cottage, the regional cuisine accompanied with Argentine wines and music will provide a favourable environment for an unforgettable experience.
  • 4. LECTURERS D. JOSÉ MANUEL RIZO PATRÓN (PERU) Breeder from Peru, and Agronomist Engineer by profession His first contact with ANCPCPP was in 1958, through his uncle Eduardo Rizo, presenting horses from his uncle’s breeding ranch and others breeders from Peru. In 1962 he starts his own breeding and he presents his own horse, totally completed by him, and he achieves his first mare muzzle champion in 1972. He has been an official member of the Peruvian National Association since 1985 and he belonged to the ANCPCPP (National Peruvian Horse Association) of Ecuador for many years, a country where he lived for 20 years. Since 1978, he has been official Judge in two national contests in Mamacona and in more than 50 National and International contests. He has had a long career as a judge, which dates back to the 1960’s. Since he was 14, he has been a judge assistant to renown breeders such as Don Luis Ascásubi, Antonio Graña Elizalde, Mario Cánepa y Carlos Luna, whose work has left its mark on the race in the past century. He is the nephew of Don José Musante, founder of ANCPCPP; he is a lifelong member of this entity, to which he has belonged since 1964. He was a judge in the first departmental competition in Lima in 1976, and in the last National one in the USA. Besides, he will be the Official Judge at the Mamacona National contest in 2007, which will take place from September 16th to 23rd.
