The document is a letter of recommendation from Adrian Lombard, President of the International Association for Falconry and the Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF), in support of Mr. Roy Beers and his efforts to promote falconry and raptor conservation in El Salvador. The IAF represents falconry organizations from 73 countries and is a member of the IUCN. Mr. Beers has represented El Salvador's falconry club at IAF assemblies since 2000 and helped form a new organization, ASCCAP, to allow greater involvement in raptor conservation projects in El Salvador.

I write to you on behalf of the International Association for Falconry
and the Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF). The IAF is the
international representative organization for falconry, having some 90
member organizations from 73 nations around the world. We are
members of the IUCN and represent falconry at all major
international and regional conventions.
Mr. Roy Beers has represented the Falconers of El Salvador at the
Assembly of Delegates of the International Association for Falconry
since 2000 as President of the Club y Escuela de Cetrería de El
Salvador. His efforts to promote Falconry and the conservation of
birds of prey in El Salvador have become well known to us. He has
recently been instrumental in the formation of a new organization:
The Asociación Salvadoreña de Cetrería y Conservación de Aves de
Presa (ASCCAP) which is a more formal organization, to allow greater
involvement in raptor conservation projects.
Falconry is the Art of hunting wild quarry with a trained hawk in the
natural environment. In December 2010, this Art gained recognition
by UNESCO as an Intangible World Cultural Heritage. Falconry is
recognized to be a sustainable use activity which encourages
conservation of raptors, quarry species and the natural environment.
On behalf of the International Association for Falconry and the
Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF), I am happy to support the efforts
