2. Storyline
• Our storyline was very similar
to that of the film taken, we
created the story of a girl being
lured to a party by a boy only
to be snatched by him. It
follows the conventions of a
typical thriller as it involves
crime which is the kidnapping.
3. Location
• We set our teaser trailer in
what looked like an abandoned
house. The reason for this is
that it was surrounded by large
tree’s which gave it an eerie
and scary feel. This part is not
similar to the film taken
although we felt with the
resources we had it was the
best way to go. This follows the
conventions for a thriller as it
keeps the audience wondering
what will happen next.
4. Iconography
• We tried the follow the
conventions of a thriller by
using stuff like fake blood, and
rope to tie the victim up with.
This item’s could also be
considered to be part of a
typical horror’s conventions,
this could potentially confuse
the audience although I do feel
that the film also does show
some of the typical
conventions of a horror.
5. Other
• We tried to create fear for the
audience through the music,
we started off this process by
using really quite a high
pitched constant music at the
start. This was then followed
by a heavy low pitched beating
sound to let the audience know
that danger is on it’s way for
Libby. We created the music
using soundtrack.
