9. ATTENDANCE AND
PARTICIPATION
Attendance:
To be counted as present at a class meeting, a student is required to participate fully in all exercises and activities of the class during
that meeting.
If a student is not in roll call order, he/she will be marked absent or tardy.
Each student is allows six (6) absences without penalty. These include absences for illness and any other reason, including religious
absences.
A student is considered late up to 5 minutes after the scheduled starting time.
Promptness to class indicates good work habits and cooperation. No one will be admitted thereafter.

10. GRADING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION COURSES IS BASED ON
ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION. THE ATTENDANCE POLICY APPLIES
TO ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE COURSE WHETHER REQUIRED OR
OPTIONAL. FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THE ATTENDANCE POLICY WILL
RESULT IN A GRADE OF F.
11. GRADING SYSTEM:

• STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO CONSISTENTLY GIVE A COMPLETE
EFFORT IN CLASS.
• GRADES ARE BASED ON THE INDIVIDUAL’S EFFORT OBSERVED
THROUGHOUT THE QUARTER.
• STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN ATTENDANCE DAILY AND TO
PARTICIPATE FULLY WITH A GOOD ATTITUDE IN ALL
• LACK OF PARTICIPATION DURING A CLASS OR DISPLAYING A POOR
ATTITUDE WILL BE RECORDED IN THE DAILY GRADE BOOK.
12. 2. SKILL EVALUATIONS - - - - - - - - - - 30%
• GRADES ARE BASED ON THE AVERAGE OF SKILLS TESTS
GIVEN THROUGHOUT THE QUARTER.
• SKILL TESTS INCLUDE OBSERVED SKILL ACQUISITION,
PRACTICE, REFINEMENT, AND APPLICATION.
KNOWLEDGE EVALUATIONS
• GRADES ARE BASED ON THE AVERAGE OF WRITTEN
GIVEN THROUGHOUT THE QUARTER.
• WRITTEN TESTS INCLUDE HEALTH AND FITNESS
CONCEPTS, SPORT HISTORY AND RULES, TERMINOLOGY
AND APPLIED KNOWLEDGE. MIDTERM PROJECT.

• ANKLE LENGTH SOCKS
• ATHLETIC SHOES MUST HAVE LACES OR VELCRO. (NO SLIP
ON SHOES)
• LACK OF BEING DRESSED OUT AND READY FOR CLASS
RESULT IN A “O” FOR THEIR CLASS PREPARATION GRADE
A “O” IN THEIR PARTICIPATION GRADE FOR THAT DAY, DUE
THE STUDENT’S INABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLASS FOR
THAT DAY.
15. DRESS CODE POLICY
1. Athletic shorts (modest, mid-thigh length; no
short-shorts, no see-through.)Undergarments
CANNOT be visible. Waistbands are to be worn at
the waist. No cargo or jean shorts.
2. A SOLID colored crew neck short sleeved T-shirt
in one of the school colors (black, white, purple, or
grey) or A short sleeved crew neck T-shirt with the
schools emblem (i.e. team, sport, club) All shirts
must reach below the waistband of the shorts.
3. Socks
4. Athletic sneakers with laces that are secured,
(i.e. slip-ons, work boots, UGGS and flip flops are
not acceptable.)
5. Unsafe jewelry (spike earrings, hoops, large rope
type necklaces, bracelets) must be removed.

Perform the task that the students has completed
Place their first and last name in the box and find
another classmate
