2. Cinco Cruces prospect is
located in Ica department,
Chincha and Pisco provinces,
at 233 Km from Lima (215 Km
by paved road and 18 Km by
gravel road). Elevations are

4. The prospect area is underlain by volcano-sedimentary
sequences corresponding to the Quilmana Group of
Early Cretaceous Age. These sequences are made up of
shallow marine andesitic volcanic and calcareous
sediments intruded by differentiated phases of the
Cretaceous Linga Superunit. The volcanics have been
affected by intense Na/Ca metasomatism and
magnetite and specularite accompany the
mineralization in the form of veins, veinlet stockworks
and breccia matrix
We have correlated this prospect with Condestable –
Raul and Mina Justa deposits because them show
similar lithological features and they are in the coast
belt copper. In addition, Cinco Cruces show similar
evidence to the Candelaria – Chile deposit.
5. At this moment majorities of veins are in
volcando sedimentary rocks of the Quilmana
Group. We consider that deeper we can found
andestic tuffs with disseminated mineralisation
building ore bodies and mantles with bigger
amounts of ore but lower copper grades.
Higuest grades include 5.76 %Cu and 9.04 Au
ppm for channel samplings.
