1. Semi-Permanent Makeup
Semi-permanent make-up is a form of temporary cosmetic tattooing which allows
you to imply long-lasting eyeliner and lip color as well as being able to shape and
contour eyebrows. The procedure involves tiny particles of pigment being placed
beneath the surface of the skin, much like a tattoo. This pigment will last in the skin
between nine to eighteen months, gradually breaking down and fading with time,
although the longevity of the results will depend on the age and skin type.
Techniques of semi-permanent makeup have been improved in recent years and a
wider selection of pigment colors have been developed so that technicians can
create ultra-natural looks. Only a trained semi-permanent make-up artist can
perform this treatment. Many technicians are also beauty therapists or nurses but
as this is a specialist skill it requires separate training.
It is also used for cosmetic enhancement to enhance the eyebrows, eyelids, lips and
cheeks, semi-permanent make-up may also be used to disguise scars.
The procedure of semi permanent makeup is not very comfortable but it does not
hurt and it leaves the skin with no scabbing or soreness and, a couple of weeks
later, the overall effect look fantastic and natural-looking.
Basically there is no difference between permanent and semi permanent makeup
except their longevity or lasting time. The effects, results and uses of these two
types of pigmentation are almost same and are used hugely among men and
women.
