• The scene opens with non-diegetic dialogue of a man speaking this could
suggest he is a main character in the film or some relevance to it. There is
a hand held effect in slow motion zoomed in of a war scene, it’s a two
shot of two men in army uniform also with diegetic sound of war. The hand
held effect makes it look realistic. There then is a close up of of the two
men to see there worried and painful emotion in there faces. It then cuts
to some sort of flash back you can tell it’s a flash back because the
narrators dialogue backs it up, the flash back is a close up of a small boy
and loads of coins. The coins could indicate something to do with then two
men, there is also diegetic music as we can hear the the coins clash and
crash.

5. • Genre: drama and romance
• Rated:12A
• Production co : Alcon Entertainment, Grosvenor Park Productions and
Wendy fireman productions
• Main actors: Hilary Swank and Gerard Bulter
• The scene opens with a non-diegetic calm music. There is a establishing
shot of a busy American street at night, it then cuts to a pan mid shot of a
man and woman coming out of a tube station, the woman comes out first
and the man follows this could suggest she’s dominant or that the man is
following her as you can see quite upset and angry emotion on there faces
this is now in contrast with the music as its still playing and still soft and
calm which is the opposite of the busy American street. Then there is
tracking following the man and woman at a fast pace. The scene then cuts
to a long shot inside a building with red walls and then a two shot of the
man and woman walking into the building, the red walls could indicate
love or anger. The music stops at 1 minute 35 as the man begins to speak
to the woman.

• The titles last 30 seconds, the scene then opens with a pan down to a old
fashioned building till we see a two shot of a couple holding hands walking
out of the building, there is non-diegetic tense music which could suggest
something is building up or something bad could happen. The couple are
dressed in winter clothes which indicates its winter. It then tracks to them
walking to the car by doing this it allows us to see more of the scene, we
can see snow which tells us its winter. It then cuts to a mid shot of the
woman inside but the camera outside of the car looking in which suggest
the man is looking in at her. Then we see an eye line match between the
man looking in and the woman in the car. It then cuts to him in the car
and it cuts to an over the shoulder two shot of them in the car. At 1
minute 31 the dialogue starts.
