Transforming Data Streams with Kafka Connect: An Introduction to Single Messa...
Using video in the classroom
1. Using Video in the
Classroom

Regents Physics
Grade 12
2. Rationale
Enhances curriculum
to help students
create authentic
connections.
Provides learning
opportunities for
visual learners.
Incorporates real life
examples to increase
student intrinsic
motivation.
3. Example
One of my lessons that I have incorporated
videos in was a lesson on Newton’s 3 laws
of motion. Newton’s laws take place
everyday at any time, and many disregard
the significance science plays in real life. To
have students appreciate the topic, I
showed a series of video clips
demonstrating actions and their reactions.
Using these videos, I had students analyze
those using layman’s terms, and then again
using proper physics terminology.
5. Advantages
Digital images/video would make my lessons
more relevant because it helps me highlight
the presence of physics in our everyday
lives. Here, students can draw upon past
experiences and prior knowledge in which
helps increase student motivation while
creating authentic connections between
curriculum and real life examples.
