This document provides an example of using an issue tree to analyze problems in food delivery transport. The area of analysis is transport, with two identified problems being high transport costs per ton of goods and high levels of waste and breakage during transport. Possible reasons for the problems include badly designed routes, too much fuel usage, no return shipments, low resource usage, fragile packaging, speed issues, poor work organization and scheduling, and delivery time limitations. The document outlines various analyses that could be performed to investigate the suspected problems and their possible causes, such as analyzing packaging and damage rates, transport times and distances, designed routes and potential changes, and fuel usage.
