CHANNEL 4 DOCUMENTARY
Throughout the documentary “my daughter the teenage nudist” the
documentary follows a teenage nudist round and we get an insigh into
her life. We see archive footage of nudists. Archive footage is a key
theme in mixed documentary's.
CHANNEL 4 DOCUMENTARY
When filming a mixed documentary you must stick to the certain codes and
conventions in order to stick to the genre. One example of this is when
interviewing you must stick to the rule of thirds which is where the
interviewee stands at the side of the camera and looks away from the
camera.
CHANNEL 4 DOCUMENTARY
Usually when you see a mixed documentary there will be a narrator which
talks over the footage in order to tell the story and inform you of things
you cant see on the film. Also on a mixed documentary there will be
music in the background relating to the theme and also cutaways, when
editing a cut away you must write the subjects name.
OUR SANDWICH DOCUMENTARY
The documentary we made was about sandwiches and looked at what type
pf sandwiches people ate and how many people eat them. In order to
stick to the genre we had to stick with the usual codes and conventions
of a mixed documentary, some examples we used were, vox pops,
narrator and cut aways.
OUR SANDWICH DOCUMENTARY
Some of the other codes and conventions we stuck to were rule of thirds
and also had to make sure we displayed the interviewees name. we
made sure the voice over was perfect for the piece and also that his
voice was suitable to discuss the topic.
PRINT ADVERT
As a group we chose to put our documentary to
be on channel 4 because we felt it would suit
our documentary the most. Because we chose
channel 4 we had to stick to the usual codes
and conventions of a channel 4 print advert.
Some of these were stand out text in a box, the
title of the documentary, the tagline and the
time and date it was on. We put our tagline in
the top right corner and the title and date in the
bottom left corner.
PRINT ADVERT.
We also had to make sure in order to stick to the codes and conventions
that we used the channel 4 logo and put it on the right hand side of the
screen and also that our image was central and attracted the audience
to come and watch our documentary.
RADIO ADVERT
When making our radio advert we had to make sure that we stuck to the
usual codes and conventions of radio ads which were using a voice
over and using similar things that relate to our radio advert. For
example we had to use the same music from our documentary and had
to use the same tag line as the one from our print advert.
