2. THE RESEARCH
Deanna and I would split the research and come
back to each other with what we have learned
I researched the brain development of children
Deanna researched how to teach small children
Both researched facts about President Obama
3. WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE RESEARCH
The importance of teaching children at an early age
What children need in order to succeed (sleep, exercise,
stable family)
The factors needed when teaching small children
4. ACTIVITIES
Coloring the American flag
Read President Obama packet together
Question and Answer session
Told fun facts about the President
Asking whether the children would want to become president
Played games with the children before leaving
5. WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE BETTER
Should have thought up a game that could have been
played
Could have spent more time with the children, time
seemed to go quickly
Did not expect children to cry during the lesson (teacher
said it happens often)
6. MY EXPERIENCE
I really enjoyed going to the preschool and teaching
the children. The classroom was filled with many
different personalities. There were kids that barely
said one word, and then there were kids that did not
stop talking. The children asked many questions and
were excited and happy to be learning. There were
about twenty-five children, all with very different
personalities and dreams. When we asked the children
whether they would want to be president, one boy
said that he wanted to be a pirate or Santa Clause. I
had a wonderful time at Christ Lutheran Preschool
and I was happy I had the opportunity to participate
and teach these children.
