ethnic groups and has a population of about 200 million people. Approximately, fifty percent is white, forty percent are mixed white or black and just
fewer than ten percent is purely black. Other significant groups in Brazil include Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, Paraguayans, and Bolivians.

Question 1– What is Religion?
Before deciding on the definition, I considered religion as being an "organised system of beliefs, ceremonies and rules to worship a god or a higher
being". The only phrase that I agreed with was the fact of religion being an "organised system" mainly because of the fact that there is a set way of
practising the religion by, for example, praying and attending mass. In contradiction, the rest of the definition makes it seem as if religion is
straight–forward on a community basis, in contrast to a personal one. Use of "a god or a higher being" contradicts the idea of polytheism, associated
with religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism (Theism.net, 2014).
As a result, I believe that the best definition of religion is "a set of guidelines that defines who you are, whether or not you worship a god or gods.
Religion varies from person to person and is based on personal faith and it is also greater than its followers and allows individuals to explore the true
meaning of life" (Nguyen and Ibaviosa et al., 2014)
The reason I chose this definition is due to the fact that it is a collaborative definition that has been compiled by utilising elements of other definitions
about the word. This means that various perspectives of the meaning of religion have been taken into consideration, which therefore means that people
are more likely to accept it. However, another reason that this definition stands out in particular is the "greater than its followers"
