2. Introduction
■ Throughout his nearly 30-year career as a player agent, W. Jerome
Stanley has represented professional athletes in tennis, football,
and basketball, among other sports. In 2014, Jerome Stanley
negotiated the four-year contract between the Denver Nuggets
and head coach Brian Shaw.
A first-round pick of the Boston Celtics in the 1988 NBA Draft,
Shaw spent 14 seasons in the National BasketballAssociation
(NBA) as a player. He played for seven different teams, including
the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic, and retired in 2003
with an average of 6.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per
game. His best performance came in 1990-91, when he averaged a
career-best of 13.8 points with 7.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds per
game as a member of the Celtics.

3. Brian Shaw
■ Following a year away from the league, Shaw was hired as
assistant coach of the Lakers in 2004 and worked as a member
of the team's coaching staff until 2011, when he became an
assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers. He served as the head
coach of the Denver Nuggets from 2013 to 2015, during which
time he led them to a win-loss record of 56-85. He re-joined the
Lakers as as associate head coach in 2016 and has been with
the team ever since.
