1) The author was exploring in Madagascar when he heard loud thumps coming from above him in the trees. 2) When he climbed up to investigate, a gigantic hairy crab-legged monster grabbed him with one of its legs and pulled him onto the ledge. 3) The monster had a bizarre hybrid appearance, with a human-like face and nose, spider eyes, hog ears, horns, shark fins for arms, bat wings, and 8 hairy crab legs.

1. Sometime in the 1990’s, I was in Madagascar, exploring all the nooks and crannies I could see, when there was a massive thump that came from about 20 metres high and 5 metres to the left of where I was at the time. I hadn’t found anything interesting that day, and hoping to find something good, I climbed to the ledge where the thump had come from. I couldn’t see anything on the ground, so I looked up at the trees that towered over me like a human towers over an ant. Nothing was out of place. I looked around for another 5 minutes, but I couldn’t see anything so I got ready to climb down the sheer cliff face, just as I heard another thump come from about 5 metres to the right this time. I had already climbed about 10 metres down when a gigantic, hairy crab leg was thrust down from over the ledge, sped towards me and scooped me up, as easily as it could pick a stick, and pulled me up on to the ledge, where it stood me up and turned me around, so I was face to face with the monster with the hairy crab legs.<br />The first thing that caught my attention was its face. It had 6 black spidery eyes that looked like they belonged to the orb spider, a grotesquely twisted mouth, a human-looking nose and lightning shaped eyebrows that made him resemble Harry Potter. His hair was blonde and spiky, and his ears were brown with white tassels and resembled a Red River Hog’s ears. It had enormous, curly horns that sprouted from its head like a rose sprouts from the earth. It was wearing a blue T-shirt with a yellow lightning bolt on it. I wonder how it got that, I thought. I then looked at its arms, but they weren’t really arms. They were shark fins. Behind the fins were bat-like wings that didn’t look like they could support the monsters enormous weight. And then there were the 8 hairy crab legs. They were the scariest part of the monster. I didn’t want to hang around any longer, so I turned and ran away from the monster.<br />After that day I retired from exploring, so that I would never see that monster again. I still remain the only one to have seen it, and I hope I don’t see it again.<br />
