Mrs. Schmitt provided a spelling contract for students with a list of activities and point values to help prepare for an upcoming spelling test. Students must choose activities totaling 100 points, have their parent check off the selected activities, and submit any written work. Activities include worksheets, pretests, writing words in different styles, using words in sentences and stories, and practicing spelling words aloud.

Below is a list of Spelling Activities that you may do to help you prepare for the
upcoming test. Each activity is given a point value depending on the difficulty and
amount of time. Please pick enough activities to total 100pts before the due date.

Spelling Worksheets (25 pts.)
Take a spelling pretest at home and write your tricky words 3 times
(20 pts)
Write your words in a-b-c order. (15 pts)
Rainbow Write your words. (Write your words in pencil and then
trace over them in 3 different colors.)(20 pts)
Use each starred word and write it in a sentence. Remember to
underline the spelling word. (50 pts.)
Write a story (at least 6 sentences) using as many spelling words as
you can. Remember to underline the spelling words. (50 pts)
Write your spelling words once then clap and cheer the letters as
you spell the words out loud. (10 pts.)
Make a word book, write your words once and illustrate them. (30
pts)
Air Write your spelling words and say the letters out loud as you
spell them. (5 pts.)
Pick two of your words and write them down, then write words in
their word families (rhyming words) underneath. (15 pts.)
Take a practice test the night before your spelling test. (10 pts)
