What makes SRCS stand out
among the other provisioners of the
Senior High School Program in Northern
Tarlac is its collaboration with the Tarlac
State University.
Students get the luxury of being
taught by experienced and competent
Tarlac State University professors which
will be contributory to their wholistic
growth as they prepare for college.
Mrs. Arilda P. Bartolo , Senior High
School Coordinator, said.
Currently, 240 students are
enrolled in the Science, Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
strand, 213 in the Accountancy and Busi-
ness Management (ABM) strand, 166
in the Humanities and Social Sciences
(HUMMS) strand, and 141 in the Tech-
nical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track,
making a grand total of 760 Grade 11 stu-
dents.
The administration expects the
population of the Senior High School De-
partment to double for the next years.

Isang simpleng araw sa trabaho
Trabaho ko’y humarap sa mga tao
Ninenerbyos ako’t kabado
Paano? Paano na ito?
Pagsabak sa entablado
Namomroblema’t walang talento
Ngunit nag-iba, ihip ng hangin
Ang ilaw ay tumapat sa akin.
Iba’t ibang alok ng iba’t ibang tao
Iba’t ibang uri ng iniindorso
Klik! Klik! Ang taong may telepono
Kinukuhanan ako! Paano?
Sa patuloy na pag-agos ng kapalaran ko
Tila nasa panaginip, pakiramdam ko
Maraming salamat, handog po sa inyo
Ngunit Paano? Paano nangyari ito?
“Paano?”JM Esteban
pamimirata,panunuhol,pagpatay,panggagahasa,kidnap-
ping,panununog,pandarambong, at paggawa at pagbeben-
lipunan?

turing mo saki’y “KAIBIGAN LANG PALA!”
Hindi mawari ng puso’t damdamin ko
Gayumang tumimo sa pagkatao ko
Buhay ko’y sadyang nais kang mapasaya
Ipagsanggalang ka at maging “SANDATA!”
Wala ng hihilingin ‘pag masaya ka
natutunaw at napipipi tuwina
anino mo’y mala bato balani na
gusto kong ipagsigawang “AYOKO NA!”
‘Pagkat tayo’y nasa “MAGKABILANG MUNDO!”
O kaysakit ng isipan at kalamnan
Na kahit kailan hindi mo malalaman!
Lihim kong pagtingin, hirap pakawalan
Umaalingawngaw, sabi’y “IKAW LAMANG!”

Hawak kamay at may kasamang iba

How she wished to say all
the things that run in her mind, the
nights that you are the only one she
can think of. It is kinda cliché to know
that you are not the man she loved be-
fore, you have change a lot that gave
a big impact in her life. Acceptance
is needed but it’s not easy for her, the
person she wants to keep and be with
her journey. In just one snap, easily
fade and became a memory. Maybe
people think that she’s pathetic for
not moving on to someone who does
not care at all but the truth is, she is
just being real and taking things slow.
She doesn’t understand why
people these days keep saying “How
long am I going to wait for the per-
son who will do everything and love
me?” She finds it funny at first and re-
alized they just want to feel important
and protected. When the time comes,
she was infatuated and the things got
complicated, she was hurt so bad, and
tried to forget everything. Ironical-
ly, after all the things that make her
world upside down she becomes a
better version that no one could ever
think.
But try to think of it, many
things should be done first. When
you no longer have love for yourself,
you no longer have it to others. Self-
love and understanding is needed if
you want to make it work. It enhances
your relationship to others if you have
the foundation and courage.

I opened my Facebook account with a big smile
on my face. It took me a long time just finishing my re-
quirements, which were quite a number if anyone would
ask. I continued scrolling down, consequently liking the
posts of the groups where I joined. And 30 minutes was a
very short time to do so.
I stopped midway when I
saw the animated picture of a girl
who was smiling on one side and
crying on the other. Somehow I
saw myself in her. A person who
hides his or her own feelings by mask- ing it with a
happy personality though in reality feels like crumbling
in the ground.
Some people come to me just to ask “You seem to
be so effortless in your life. How do you do it?” I just keep
on smiling and shook my head. Ah...such blindness. They
can’t see what really happens inside me. They don’t know
the feelings that circulate in my system. They don’t know
the thoughts that linger in my mind.
Some are innocent, still. Shielded from the truth
and blinded from reality. And others are just plain igno-
rant. They never read between the lines not even taking
notice of the inner struggles the people around them face.
There are situations where you would want to know what
a person really wants, what he or she
really needs. A situation where you
would know that he or she is not
saying the whole truth or worse a lie.
But most people are cunning than
others. Wearing masks to hide their
true feelings. Building up walls around them not only to
keep everyone out but to keep everything they feel inside
never wanting it to show.
“5 minutes left!” I was awaken from my trance by
the computer’s rental application. I stood up and searched
my pockets for a ten peso coin. I gave it to the employee
and walked out the door. Another day of wearing masks
and building walls. No one would notice. Because in the
world I live in it doesn’t matter what happens behind the
scenes.

“Sometimes you need to read in between
the lines to know what really happens in

I doubt if you will understand me. Much less
be able to read this letter of mine. But I want you to
know that you are the reason why I want to control
both space and time. I want to see you so badly, that
I’d even swim for miles. I’d cross the oceans and run
through the deserts just to be close to you right now.
My friends say I’ve gone crazy. They say I’m
insane. But I just cannot help but be mesmerize ev-
ery time I hear your name. Is it wrong to get angry?
Is it wrong to get mad? I just don’t like them bashing
you behind back.
You are my inspiration. And you said I was
yours too. But reality strikes hard making me some-
what realize that fans like me can never be with you.
I’d rather meet you personally than go crazy thinking
of you.
I want to go to concerts or at least the meet-
and-greets but why can’t we be together at the same
time and place? I wish I can meet you now or have
even a glimpse. I hope to see you soon but I know life
is a maze. I do know I will meet you maybe not now
but in the farther days.

6. “Itreat my students indifferently. I treat them like my
own kids. I treat them like a family.”
These words immediately caught my interest. It was
such a wonderful remark. Barring itself deeply in my thoughts.
I was walking down the halls of the new building, look-
ing for my classmates when I suddenly caught the attention of
our journalism adviser. He called out
to me, telling that I had to interview a
teacher.
Angelito S. Ofrecio, or com-
monly known as Sir Ofrecio, was the one
I needed to have an interview with. It
made me nervous. I have never talked to
him long. What more if it was an interview?
The following week, I decided to do my task. Car-
rying only a pen and a notebook which contains all my ques-
tions. I dashed pass the classroom till I saw him. He didn’t look
near shabby at the age of 60 but the years of hardwork clearly
shows.
I calmed myself and asked him if he could spare some
time for the interview. Gladly he agreed.
I asked him several question and he answered with a
smile and told me his story.
Ever since he was a kid, he was known to be quite a
troublemaker, making him transfer from one school to another.
When he reached the age for secondary education, he worked as
a janitor while studying here at St. Rose Catholic School. Msrgr.
Itliong was the one who helped him so that he can study.
After igh school, he went to a well-known college and
graduated as a proud Nicanorian. During his college days, he al-
ready taught students from different aga levels.
He taught at St. Rose Catholic School
for more than 3 decades. And leaving,
in his point of view is both joyous and
sad. There were a lot of memories that
he will never forget – the triumphs
and downfalls. Everything was a step to become what he is now.
“Prayer is the answer to everything. Just do the right
things in life and everything will come into place.” Such words
are usually heard from the elderly and all in the sense is true.
“To the students, study hard and pray hard. As long as
you have discipline, all the things you need and want will follow.
And to the teachers, respect everyone in this institution. Every-
one here is what makes up the school. Treat each other like a
family.”
His words showed sadness but it also offers a huge
amount of inspiration that comes for our responsibilities.

“Prayer is the answers to everything, just

“Aschool is as good as its teacher” this utterance in no way
go beyond the truth. The reason of the meaningful signifi-
cance of the task of those who teach, of notable importance
to the task of a teacher is to promote learning. To achieve this
goal, the teacher must know many about the students; their
learning characteristics or study habits, their interest, their
needs - be it physical, social, mental, emotional or spiritual,
their background differences and their cultural values among
many other contributing elements.
The teacher should also familiarize himself with the
nature of instruction, the assorted types of related tasks and
the curriculum. It is of essential necessity for the teacher to be
completely intimate with the factors of education – the learn-
er, the curriculum and the strategies of efficient instruction.
What do the teachers usually do? if one has to teach,
how diverse and exciting the imagination will his account-
abilities be? Why is it frequently claimed that a teacher’s task
is increasingly getting more intricate every time; isn’t it that
teaching together with all its related accountabilities and
duties involve a numerous varied tasks such as planning of
lessons, modules and designing strategies which take place
behind the sense of cleanroom management, not to mention
others? Other tasks of a teacher include student guidance and
counseling, directing of extra – class activities, supervision of
non-class situations and one self-imposed obligation – living
the life of a professional or a distinguished one.
The teacher task serves to different roles which are
expected to be intricate on account of him and the learners
and into the people in general. The teacher is a person en-
trusted with one’s secret, resource person, motivator, coun-
selor, director and guide to erudition, surrogated example,
model and connoisseur. Right, the teacher, is a distinguished
one with manifold legal qualifications or authorities and
varied obligations. He must be capable of turning freely in all
of these on account of his duty is indispensable to modern
society and well-developed social and cultural life.
Moreover, teacher holds the vital key to open the
eyes and hearts of our learners in our seemingly endless
attempts in evolving a new and stronger citizen.
He is the undisputed molder of minds of our youths
which we hope that’s all important identity for which we have,
for long labored and sweated attain.
