Subject: Action plan for improving corporate responsibility
Introduction
On 20 October, the PR department discussed suggestions for improving Stitch Wear’s
corporate responsibility. Because of the negative publicity related to the manufacturing
conditions, corporate responsibility has to improve. We agreed on the following plan of
actions.
Code of conduct
Firstly, we recommend to attach more value on the compliance of the code of conduct which
we have for our manufacturing companies. In order to realize this, there will be a permanent
supervision on each manufacturing company. Stitch Wear will be responsible for this
supervisor.
Conditions child employees
Secondly, we advise that children from 14 till 16 receive free education and health care. The
education will be mainly focus on the production process of their company which will lead to
a higher productivity.
Supplier-screening policy
Thirdly, it is also necessary to check the supplier from the suppliers. We suggest to outsource
this task. We will outsource it to a company which is associated with ETI (Ethical Trading
Initiative), this will have a positive effect on the reputation of Stitch Wear.
Sports event
Finally, we recommend to organize a benefit match between professional football players.
The earnings of this match will be donated to a charity association. During the match there are
commercials which clarify the new connection between ETI and Stitch Wear.
Conclusions and recommendations
2. The PR department realizes that implementing these recommendations will probably includes
higher long-term costs. However, we believe that these recommendations are necessary to
restore the damaged reputation of Stitch Wear.
We hope that you will criticize our recommendations positively and that these will be
executed in practise
