1. Janet Bickerton RN BN MEd
Janet studied nursing at MUN and Dalhousie, community development at STFX and
graduate studies in adult education at UNB. She currently works as a Health Promoter
with Public Health in the Eastern Zone and is part time faculty in the Community Studies
program at CBU.
In her 35 year career, Janet has worked extensively in health and community
development, building community capacity to address the determinants of health. Janet
has worked internationally teaching nursing in the Arabian Gulf.
Janet’s research involvement has ranged from one stop cancer screening, teacher’s
capacity to teach sexual health education, health provider’s interface with people who
inject drugs, and housing and homelessness.
