In what way does your media product
use, develop or change forms and
conventions of real media products?

2. Costumes
The costumes used in the film opening are
based on costumes I have researched from
various post apocalyptic films. Watching
other post apocalyptic films inspired us to
use costumes that represent their
struggling life through the new world.
Most of our costumes were based on the
book of eli.

4. Our film opening challenges the ideologies
normally seen in post apocalyptic films. From
my research post apocalyptic films normally
include zombies as the event that created the
issue. By not including zombies and using
natural disasters as the issue that caused the
post apocalyptic we created an original film
opening. We reinforce the idea of natural
disasters we used wide long shots of open
space to show the desertedness of the world.

5. The music used in the film opening also
challenges the typical post apocalyptic film.
With help from slow camera tracks and dark
special effects in editing, the slow pace music
helped develop the storyline of our slow
pace post apocalyptic film. I took the music
from YouTube as it was free, something that
the big production companies wouldn’t do.
