1. GRAND TETON NATIONAL
PARK
Grand Teton National Park has a beautiful mountain range. It is
complete with four places for people to stay at six restaurants . It
is really close to Yellowstone National Park so you could visit both if
you want to.It is located right by Jackson Wyoming. Grand Teton
has awesome forests with tons of animals birds, bears, bugs all sorts
of stuff. The mountains climb up about ten thousand feet into the
sky.
Grand Teton was established Feb/sixth/1929.The eastern face
of the mountains was formed about 3 billion years ago. in 1950
congress enlarged the size of the park from35,000 acres to
310,000 acres. It snows about 191 in. in a year and rains about 10 in.
in a average year.
The nature in the park is outstanding with more than 900 species
of flowering plants.7 species of coniferous trees.3 species of
rabbits/hares.22 species of rodents.6 species of bats.4 species of
non poisonous reptiles.5 species of amphibians.16 species of
fishes.300+ species of birds.6 species of hoofed animals.17 species
of carnivores. and many gold eagles.
Grand Teton was made a park by congress in 1929. They did not
2. have much land so congress
enlarged it to its present size of 310,000 acres
It doesn't show that the park face many challenges but people
trying to build more buildings in the land of the park and people
abusing the park. So if you go there you should treat the park
good.So don't litter or throw stuff on the ground.
Since the park is so close to Yellowstone it shares many of the same
characteristics of the park . Allot of snow and very very very
beautiful scenes, and nature. Just a couple more things .Don't
forget you camera and take the whole family because this park is a
great fun place for kids and adults. just remember t o stay a good
distance away from animals and non designated swimming water.
